About
Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin sits just half an hour from Sacramento but the stunning landscape blanketed with thousands of live oaks feels much more secluded. In addition to the trees, massive granite outcroppings accent the course. It is both a visually stunning and formidable championship layout. The diverse topography is the focus, providing many challenges with the elevation changes and towering trees that line the narrow fairways. The rolling topography helped to determine the placement of the bunkers. Wetlands come into play throughout the golf course, also serving as home to numerous varieties of indigenous wildlife. The golf course finishes with a tough hole, a long par 5 that is flanked by wetlands on both the left and right. Whitney Oaks G.C. also has a practice facility with a 15-station driving range, a putting green, and pitching area.

Too Punishing
This course is for advanced players. Under 10.
Everybody else just suffers through it. It is the reason my friends won’t play it. Losing six, seven, eight balls around is not fun.

by far one of the nicest, cleanest courses I’ve played that are open to the public. The staff literally
I’ve been golfing for 23 years and this is by far one of the nicest, cleanest courses I’ve played that are open to the public. The staff literally blew my mind! The nicest people I’ve ever met at any golf course in the greater Sacramento Elk Grove area and Roseville. Treated with the most respect at the counter when checking in, and at the bar. The lady behind the counter was the sweetest person ever. And very helpful. She offered us a free icebox and ice for our drinks. She was very kind. It was the first time I’ve ever had the privilege of playing my first round of golf with my two oldest sons for the first time ever in my life, and one of my sons needed a left handed set of clubs. The gentlemen at the the counter was extremely courteous to us and helped with a rental set. I’m glad I was able to do this at this golf course with these fine employees. Not to mention the people we ran into on the course or on the cart path were all extremely nice people. Honestly never felt treated so kind at any other course the way we were treated here. Definitely setting my T time for next week here at Whitney!
I think i found my new favorite place to play.

Great track!
I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of this course. The front nine is fairly open to get your game together then the back nine tightens up with boulders all over the place. Very aesthetically pleasing golf course. If I had to be picky, there was water in two of the bunkers on the back nine ( from watering) and the grass is very inconsistent with little tufts everywhere around the greens and very thin on the fairways You would think with the amount of water that dumped on CA to his past winter things would be different. NOT SO. I really enjoyed the course though!

A challenging and different course
I hadn't played the course in a few years so didn't remember many of the holes. It was harder than I thought, but some of that was due to sanded greens and other punching that must have occurred recently. It has several blind holes so not knowing the layout was irksome. Overall, course is in good shape.

Good time, first time there. Got beat up a little. Learned how to work cart screens or have device. Finding drop zones was hard.
