About
Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin sits just half an hour from Sacramento but the stunning landscape blanketed with thousands of live oaks feels much more secluded. In addition to the trees, massive granite outcroppings accent the course. It is both a visually stunning and formidable championship layout. The diverse topography is the focus, providing many challenges with the elevation changes and towering trees that line the narrow fairways. The rolling topography helped to determine the placement of the bunkers. Wetlands come into play throughout the golf course, also serving as home to numerous varieties of indigenous wildlife. The golf course finishes with a tough hole, a long par 5 that is flanked by wetlands on both the left and right. Whitney Oaks G.C. also has a practice facility with a 15-station driving range, a putting green, and pitching area.

Great hard course to play
Due to heavy rain, course was muddy with dead grass. But overall very fun to play and challenging for amateurs

Always a Challenge
Whitney Oaks is one of my favorite courses in the area. Great mix of holes which will have you using every club in your bag! Considering it's January and we've had record rainfall it was the course played very well. Highly recommend you giving it a try.

Golf experience
This is a hard course! It was first time playing it and looking at the scorecard I figured oh I should score well here. Well I had one par and on last hole. The layout is so unique and beautiful. I can’t wait to come back and play it in the summer. And get more than one par!

Only played it a few times
I've only played Whitney Oaks a few times.....only because it's quite a distance from my home (226 miles round trip).
But, I really like this course (especially the back 9). It's a great layout w/ a lot of variation and creative holes. I like the fact that it flows w/ the natural topography, and has many beautiful trees (old oaks etc.) and boulders. Very scenic....my kind of course.
Can say, whenever it works w/ my schedule, I will play it again in a "New York minute"......and again, and again.
That's about all I can say.
Highly recommend
I can’t think of a course I’ve enjoyed more. I love some of the challenging pin placements and how well kept the facility is. I would frequent more often if I didn’t live so far away.

Perfect weather and good pace of the play.
Wonderful day to be out in the course. Fast greens helped me to register 2 birdies and a couple more near-miss. The staff are always friendly and courteous. Due to the soft and the wet spots, it was cart path only day but it helped the pace of the play. Also it was a big help for me to get some workout. Since we play here on a regular basis, it’s becoming more enjoyable and worthwhile to drive up here some distance. The players are very friendly also and it is a very good thing. This course is becoming our unofficial home course. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring any of my friends or guests from foreign countries. I am sure they will enjoy the course. Let’s keep up the good work, friends.

5 hour round
Teed off at 11:50 and finished at 5:00. No marshal to keep pace of play moving along.

Half and half
The course was nice the greens were fast. The staff was friendly. The pace of play was fine for the first 11 holes after that it was very slow and waiting on every shot. I caught up to a twosome and added to the group however it did not help the pace of play. There were several five seasons that slowed things up significantly. I never saw a ranger and there was not a starter which added to the problems with the slowness of play. I would play it again It’s very beautiful and a challenging course.

Unreal Layou
This course was the least enjoyable course I have played in 40 years of golfing. Too many hazards placed in front of greens. Seemed as though every other hole was a dog leg. If you like trees, some in the fairway, then this is your course. All to often tee boxes were in uneven area. Since the course had light rain the day before it was cart path only even though fairways were dry. Golf cart died on 17 but we managed to milk what was left of battery to get us to club house. We won’t be back.
