About
Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin sits just half an hour from Sacramento but the stunning landscape blanketed with thousands of live oaks feels much more secluded. In addition to the trees, massive granite outcroppings accent the course. It is both a visually stunning and formidable championship layout. The diverse topography is the focus, providing many challenges with the elevation changes and towering trees that line the narrow fairways. The rolling topography helped to determine the placement of the bunkers. Wetlands come into play throughout the golf course, also serving as home to numerous varieties of indigenous wildlife. The golf course finishes with a tough hole, a long par 5 that is flanked by wetlands on both the left and right. Whitney Oaks G.C. also has a practice facility with a 15-station driving range, a putting green, and pitching area.

Tough course, many technical holes. It was fun and the greens challenging
Excellent Condition Now
The course is in excellent condition for this summer time. The greens are always so tough for the average golfer. I had at least four 3-putts and have played her several times before. Severe undulation on every green. Today, more than half the pins were in the back, side rear--it wasn't evenly distributed. Made scoring tough. Surprisingly, not busy. Pace of play was around 4 hours.
Always Great, But Drink Cart Needs Golf e Etiquette
Always a great course, fun to play, challenging and awesome greens. The Drink Cart that drives around, she kept coming around. If you were about to hit she'd keep driving right up on you. My husband was teeing off of number 9 and she drove right up behind from 8, went over the curb right beside me to keep going. I stopped her and told her she needs to be respectful of the golfers and stop when they are hitting. Other than that and a clown group we caught on 17, cursing and hitting several shots all over the place it was a great day.

Great Course with amazing staff
Course is starting to dry out a bit…not as lush and green as I recall. They had a course members tourney going on…so pace of play was painfully slow. Yes I played on a Saturday afternoon but a round exceeding 5 hours as a course like that was disappointing.
Will not deter me from returning again and again if the grass stays green…
2nd time was better
I played this course 2 or 3 years ago and did not like it. Lots of blind shots and blind trouble. But this time around I thought my way around much better and really enjoyed it. Very much a target golf course and if you miss fairways good luck.
