Grill telephone number was not working at the turn. Need to fix that.
Great Weather, Great Day
Beautiful weather kept our spirits high and provided a thoroughly enjoyable game. Excellent game pace. Greens, T's, fairways and roughs are in good shape. Sand traps really need some work.
Beautiful SPRING Afternoon
Absolutely beautiful weather today for our round. Course is in quite good shape except for the sand traps which are pretty much rock and mud. Hope they're planning on a major sand trap rework this summer.
Pace was excellent. 4'10" for the round.
Bunker problems
This is a good course with a good layout. It is also another course that doesn’t care enough about the patrons to take care of the bunkers. Probably a third of the bunkers were flooded. That’s understandable in winter. It hasn’t rained for weeks which means they just don’t care. They have no problem charging full price though.
Don’t waste your time or money
Went out in a Sunday afternoon. Course was in awful shape. Lost multiple balls in the fairway and ‘first cut’. No marshal to check on pace of place. Waited on every hole for 5-7 minutes. A twosome on a Sunday afternoon with a 3 pm tee time should not play nearly a 5 hour round. First cart died on us on hole 3, second cart started to die around hole 16. It survived the round. Overall not a great experience at all. We’ve played at nearly all courses in the Sacramento area, this was by far the worst.
ruff
The course was good. It is early and hard to mow the rough, but it was high and lost a lot of balls right off of the fairway. Understandable for this time of year
Friggen Hacks
As per usual on this Muni Track....Too many hacks. Literally a sixsome in front of us. Hacks playing from the blue tees, when they have no business being on anything other than a mini golf course. Probably the LAST time I try and play this course on a weekend. Ridiculous.
A Very Nice Course
One of my favorite courses. Just had a lot of rain but the course drained very well. The fairways were in pretty good shape, greens were in very nice shape and ran pretty fast. The sand traps were the only downside. A couple had water in them and most of the others were packed down so the bunkers needed work. Have to remember it rained pretty hard here. You need to be straight and accurate with your shots or you will pay. There are a couple of forced carries but nothing that is really hard. I don't think you can go wrong playing here.
Nice Winter Play Round
We had a bit of a breather (no pun intended) from the Camp Fire smoke until about the 15th hold. Up until then, clear and nice. Course is in pretty good shape for winter. We just took "winter play drops" (our rules) on most of the bunkers as they're pretty much unplayable. Greens are overall, in nice shape and run fast. Fairways are in pretty good shape - some excess water in places. Overall, for a cloudy day, it was well worth the time on the course.
Woodcreek is always a great golf course
Although some of the bunkers we’re not playable and there was some areas of mud overall the course is in great shape
Notify punched greens
We arrived about an hour prior to our tee time. When checking in the pro shop told us we’d have to wait 15 minutes for a cart, so we went to the lounge.
Once loaded up, we went to the practice green and realized they had recently punched the greens
Hadn’t played here before, and didn’t see a yardage book in the pro shop.
There are many blind tee shots, so I’d recommend playing with a box of Topflite.
It was a warm day, and all but one water jug was empty.
There are plenty of courses in the area, so we’ll go elsewhere.
Great Weather, Great Pace
The greens had been refurbished a week or so ago, so putting was problematic. The sand traps need work. However, we played in just over 3 hours and thoroughly enjoyed the fairways, weather and pace.
Poor condition today
The course had punched the greens a few days ago but no 'aeration warning' was given on the Golf Now web site for Wood Creek. In addition, the course was not being managed properly. Dry spots all over the place in areas I hadn't notice in previous rounds.
Needs a major cleanup and better management.
The weather was a little warmer than usual and the scenery was perfect. Now the bad things. There were more geese and ducks on the greens and fairways than the players. I have never seen any worse condition of the fairways in the World. Even the fairways in Guam and some remote desert courses had better managed fairways.
In addition, there were some unexplained and unreasonable blind spots, mud holes due to overwatering.
Thousands of years old half-dead and withered oak trees right in the center and close to the greens was a joke.
Good thing. The layout is very good. The course can appreciate a major facelift so that it could compete against the premier courses nearby. I saw the great possibility. Thanks.
