Good Public Course
Woodcreek is a challenging, but accessible public course and the value is good. Greens are in good shape and most fairways. One of those kinds of courses that you don't always hit a driver off every tee. You have to manage the course.
Fun Afternoon away from Work
Booked a time for a single and teed of at 2:30 with a couple of friendly guys for the front 9 who were playing in reverse due to some real slow ladies that need to have their cell phones confiscated. The course was in pretty good shape considering the drought problems in California these days. Greens were also playing well but the golfers around here are not real good about fixing their ball marks so we decided to fix 5 each every hole and help out. Pace of play was a bit slow but not too bad. Some people don't understand ready golf but we got through it. Bunkers are a bit hard and could use some more sand. Back nine I hooked up with a fun new pair to finish off the round. All in all a good time and a good course.
Great Day of Golf!
Woodcreek is always a good time and a good course. This was no exception.
The course was in good shape and speed of play was excellent.
Wonderful at Woodcreek
This was a wonderful day at Woodcreek Golf Club. The fairways were tight and well groomed, and the greens were quick, but not too fast. This is always a good course to play, and the weather made it even more enjoyable.
I am an average golfer, so pars and birdies are few and far between, but the nature of this course made even an average round very enjoyable.
I look forward to playing it again.
Should Have Been Warned
We've played this course before with little to no issues. But they had just aerated the greens...weren't told about that prior. Also, they were having some kind of "movie night" which turned the par 5 9th hole into a par 3...which stunk.
Just wish we would have known to either get a better discount or opportunity to play elsewhere or another time. We will be back just a disappointing trip.
Woodcreek
Course is average now. It used to be better. Lots of bare spots and the bunkers are nothing but packed, rock hard dirt.
From Queen to ageing dowager
Got a wonderful price from GolfNow due to promo code and points. I played WoodCreek on opening day some 14 or 15 years ago. Since then the course has been the prime Roseville City course. Now the restaurant seems overpriced with a non-descript menu. I used to divert there just to eat, even without playing. The course had many bare spots and other places were so wet as to need one to take relief. It is a great layout though, with good greens and traffic was light for our afternoon round.
Woodcreek
Course was in good shape except the bunkers. All wet or hardpan. Lots of turkeys and geese. Fun course.
Good course, needs updating
This course is right near my house, but I play it the least. Fun layout, but not fun if you get in the bunkers. That's because they aren't sand but dirt. Hard dirt. And please buy some new rakes! Almost everyone I used (and I was in about 3 different bunkers) was broken.
Woodcreek Golf Course
Love this course. Easy to walk and yet very interesting layout. Greens in good shape and hold the ball well even though it is the middle of summer and blazing hot and dry.
Hot day, fun round
The temperature was around 100° and we were able to play with nobody in front of or behind us. My only complaint was that some of the green side bunkers had little sand, resulting in bladed shots.
Course in excellent shape
Green and fair in great shape butifull lau out.
Bad service from staff
I purchased through golfnow, and was treated like a second class citizen. They said they charge $26 for somebody to ride with you, that isn't even olaying(I have never had his happen, and I have played all over the sac area. Also they said I had to ride with the other person that booked the same tee time, because that how golf now reservations work. NOT TRUE! Once I teed off they announced me to see them at the club house at the turn, just to tell me it was $26 for a ride along The service was very bad and like I said almost made me feel like my money didn't matter, because I reserved from golfnow.
Also the woman's bathrooms were locked all throughout the course. Men's restrooms were pretty dirty as well. Pretty bad for the females I would imagine.
Pace of play was very slow. The martial was not seen once by any group I talked to.
I will stick to playing at teal bend. Too bad, because I live very close to Woodcreek.
Pin locations were ridiculous
Course was just coming out of aeriation and the pins on many of the holes were in tournament locations during regular weekday play. Many bunkers were light on sand. These conditions mirror Roseville sister course Diamond Oakes which I played last week. My feeling is both course have same greens keeper or crews. I'm happy I didn't have to play full fare as these tight pins with ridiculous locations created a 5 hour round as we & other groups 3 & 4 putted. Not an enjoyable round and will take my golfing budget to other Roseville courses. Also they don't announce tee groups so you have to guess if you are assigned with another group. They also sent off several singles which slows play as each group they play through has to wait if the single plays thru them. No Marshall was seen on our day of play.
wet fairways
The fairways were not well cut balls were lost if off fairway, There has been alot of rain leading to poor conditions.
After the storm
18 in less than 4 hours! I played in between storms and was surprised at the condition of the course. The greens were pretty firm and the course not all that wet. And...no crowd. Great day for a round of golf.
Great Coarse, always enjoy it.
I would actually rate it at 4.5 stars. The coarse was in great shape with the exception of the sand traps. The traps where muddy or hard, a lot of the reason for 4 rating. We had a tee time at 1:40pm on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and the flow was great for the day and time. Will play again!
