Rainy day golf.
Even though the conditions were very wet and we did get rained on for a couple holes, I will definitely play this course again. The greens rolled very well despite the wet conditions and the fairways were mostly playable with some areas of soggy sod. Every tee box has its own unique look with visuals to throw off your depth perception.
The rest rooms were a bit spread out but there were plenty of water jugs on the course. The warm and practice area are nice. The carts include a Golflogix GPS, though I had my Garmin with and did not use the one on the cart. The course is walkable, though there is some holes where the green to tee box is a bit of a walk.
Had a beer and some tacos after and the food, beer and service were all good.
nice course
The course is in pretty good shape overall. The everyday price is higher than the quality of the course, but there are plenty of deals available.
GOLF Soccer
Course was in good condition. The new craze is playing soccer golf. The players were a bit noisy on the sidelines.
Solid with good value on a deal
At rack rate there are probably better courses in the area - but shopping the online discounts will land you at this track in a value category that makes it absolutely worth playing. For $29 I got 18 holes with a cart.
Yes, the rough is fairly deep in parts, but for a shorter course how can you complain - hit the fairway or face more trouble than usual in the rough. (I probably lost 3 balls due to rough... sucked, but whatever, it's fall golf)
I'd definitely play here again. Not the best conditions around, but the fairways are green, the greens slightly slow, but true, the rough is deep, but not extreme, and sure, there are some areas with bare dirt if you miss the fairway and rough, but really, you can't complain about that - eventually every course runs out of grass)
in need of a marshall
the course itself is great, we played the first four holes with nobody in front of us then we had to wait about 20 minutes just to hit our tee shot on 5 there were two groups of foot golfers mixed in with about six grouos of golfers on the next 3 holes it was very frustrating the kids playing foot golf were chase there ball and going back to their tee box to re kick. if courses like this have footgolf they should educate them so stuff like this doesnt happen
Bring an old club for chipping
The good - Greens are really nice and fast. Course was in good overall shape
The bad - Large patches of dirt and gravel within 20-30 feet of some of the greens. These areas have never been seeded and have gravel embedded in the dirt. Very hard on your clubs. This is the only reason for my NO recommendation.
Bunkers are devoid of sand.
Bring your A game
Very nice course. Played this course a few months ago for the first time, it was just as hard this time. Yardage is not long but you have to know where to put your ball, course knowledge. Lots of traps, some water, makes this course difficult. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape, sand traps could use a little more sand but they are OK. You might want to play this course with someone that has knowledge, has played it before more than once. We hooked up with another twosome that had played here quite a few times, helped us quite a bit. The course does have signs on some holes letting you know what is ahead, so many yards to the water or end of fairway, I like that. Great course, will play it again.
Great track!
New here from Dallas and have played two other courses so far but this place is great! Friendly, helpful staff and a great value! The course is challenging and fun and keeps your attention all the way through. Bent greens are in fantastic shape! Will certainly be back for more!
Wet, shaggy greens, and Not Just Golf!
I have played this course before and have enjoyed the facilities. This time I recommended to friends that we play there because of their Legends Bar and availability of food and football.
How embarrassed I was by the condition. Wet and the staff was watering - so wet - the fairways were being rutted by golf carts. Greens so shaggy that you couldn't stroke your putts you needed to chip anything over 20 feet! When a golf course is in this poor condition it should come with a warning and free cocktails.
I won't be counted on to make a reservation for this group for a long time. To make things worse they had soccer and other activities that had a two-some cut in front of us on the turn. Awful.
Overpriced and Poor Condition
This course is one of the most overpriced courses I have seen for what you get. Typically, it ranges from $45-60 per round depending on the date and time. I got a deal yesterday and only paid $24...I still feel like I overpaid. The fairways have a poor drainage system so they're completely soaked in places, the sand traps are compacted and are like playing in the heavy rough. The greens were aerated over two weeks ago and they still look like they were just punched. All in all, a poorly managed and maintained facility.
never say anything bad if that's all you have to say
given the title the best thing about the course was the staff, who did the best they can given the course condition.
whoever is in charge of irrigation at the Roseville city
courses needs to look at their neighbors to see how
a golf course should be maintained.
it is terrible to go to either city course during this
brutally hot summer and find mud on the ball shot
after shot hole after hole.
What are they thinking?
This course is great from tip to tip. It challenges in so many ways. Great fairway bunkers and dry spots around huge trees to really make you place your shots.
Even though PG&E had to do pipe work and fairways were a bit under repair, the greens were decent for having been punched, bumpy but true.
You can't expect a course to be tip top all year long. The cost per round was best deal in Placer/Sac counties and I recommend you get out and play.
This is one of my favourite spots and always come back.
Worst course this year!
I had family in town and decided to play this course due to its easy layout and normally good maintenance . Yes the greens had just been punched and I was aware of this. However we were not made aware of the construction that changed the layout and par of two holes. One of the tee boxes had to be moved up due to the construction. Of course they had the sprinklers on and dripping on us as we had to tee off. The course from start to finish was super soaked. It looked like the course went a month without water then on the day of our tee time they decided to soak it. I have played here multiple times so I have seen the course in both summer and winter conditions. The maintenance crew seemed to not care that we were golfing. They were doing a bunch of trimming of the grass which is something you do during the week not on a friday, and at least they could have stopped while trying to hit the ball. I would pass on this course until next year when they can get there management together.
Employees must have slept in
Had a 630 tee time on a Friday. Got to the course early to warm up and there were 15+ guys waiting to check in. No one arrived until after 6 to open the clubhouse. Needless to say we were more than rushed to warm up before teeing off. The course is on ok condition considering the time of year but we were dodging way to many maintenance workers throughout the whole round. Even had the guy blowing off the cart path pass our cart as we were teeing off, this was not only distracting but covered our entire cart including our drinks with dust and dirt. There is construction going on the back nine which is not the fault of the course (PG&E gas line) but the course could have those holes marked better. All in all it was an enjoyable round on a course that was in pretty good shape. The poor customer service will make me think twice next time I am choosing where I play my next round.
Woodcreek golf
Sand traps had standing water and not very much Sand otherwise the nice course
Played my best game yet.
I enjoy this course. It can be difficult, but that sometimes makes it more fun. There is a gas line being installed and a couple of holes in the back nine are currently re-routed. Just a temporary issue. I'm new to the game and had the best game ever. Yeaaaa!
Hurry up and wait
The course is nice but it seems like they have people tee up every 10 minutes. I know better than to go out on the weekend, but I thought a Tuesday at 5:00 would be safe. We waited at every hole. In hole #5 there were 4 groups. Perhaps if the round is free I may go there again.
Bad greens
The greens on this course we beat up. Golfers did not repair their divots which caused bumpy greens. Some of them were wet due to over watering. The pace of play was slow also. I have played here several times before and the greens are usually great.
Nice Course
Course was in fairly good shape. Pace of play was good. The restaurant has a huge issue with flies. They need to get that under control.
Great condition
This was my first time playing this course and I was very surprised. Many times when you get a value priced tee time you don't expect a whole lot out of the course. When I pulled up at Woodcreek I checked to make sure I had the correct location. This course is in great condition, is moderately challenging and has a great staff. Grounds crews are out in force hand watering dry areas and rate of play is pretty good. I will definitely play again.
