9th hole on Canyon. One of the most picturesque holes on the course. Tough hole that plays into the wind. Photo submitted by aliikane10 on 07/14/2017

Plugged greens
Wanted to play this course for a while. Always told it was a great course. Greens were just plugged and there was NO mention of this by ANYONE. I would never have played there if I knew. Also, greens had some minor "rot" going on. Fairways good, people were nice.
This course has a great lay out
The course was in excellent condition with the exception of the greens which had been punched a week earlier. The pace could be monitored more closely as the twosome ahead of us held up the pace of play for several groups including us (a 3-some) the entire back nine. Otherwise a very memorable experience and we will be back.
Excellent and Fun Course
Besides being a beautiful inland course, there are many really interesting holes - some with really elevated tees, one where you had to hit up to the fairway, and some with forced carries. There is a nice choice of tees so it can be played by just about anyone. Though the fairways are generous, if you are wild, bring plenty of extra balls.
need marshals
need marshals. There was a foursome in front that was a hole and one half behind holding us up . At one point there was two foursomes waiting on a par three behind this group. It ended up a five hour round.
Solid
For $51, it is absolute worth it. Only small hiccup was that the greens were punched and didn't find out until we checked in. Lake/Mtn. courses were on par as usual!
This Course in great condition in a beautiful location
Played the mountain/lakes course at 8:10 am. It was pretty chilly when we first teed off but warmed up after 5 holes. The course was in great shape with fast true greens that demanded better than average putting skills. Found the course challenging from the red tees (Cinnabar tees) which demanded straight shots with smart club selection being crucial. Although a 2 hour drive for me it was well worth the trip. It was the 4th time I played it over a 1 and a half year period I would play it again. A real gem in a great setting.
Cinna"bar-none"!
I frequent this course once or twice a month. It is a great deal and always maintains it's great shape and conditions. I've played Mountain and Canyon numerous times, but finally got to play Lake. Lake is the most difficult of the 3 9's located on the facility. We finished 18 and with the weather as beautiful as it was, played 27 (asked Pro Shop and said no problem). You will use most clubs in your bag and the putting is fast and difficult. Definitely one of the better courses in the South Bay that's public; feels like a Private course with it's quite environment in the hills. 5 star and will continue to play there.
Picuturesque views
Play at 8am. Putting green shows signs of aeration but the greens on the course haven't been aerated. There are 3 nine's...Lake, Mountain and Canyon. Favorite is Lake/Canyon but all 3 are challenging If you like target golf you'll enjoy Canyon holes 2 thru 8.but very playable for all handicap golfers. There are several holes with forced carries on the tee shot but if you play from the right tees or know how far you can carry your tee shot it shouldn't be a problem. Drop areas are provided just in case you don't make the fairway off the tee. Fairways are in great shape. Greens ran true and fast. View from the 8th and 9th hole on Canyon are spectacular.
One of my favorites
Excellent and consistent condition, smooth greens and great facility.
this course is super fun to play
greens were in great shape and course was in good shape as a whole very challenging golf hole with great views nice relaxing day at the course
one of the best course in bay area
excellent course, some what over price but, very good
overall, will come back many time.
Consistently good golf experience
Great courses, great conditions, good helpful staff. What more can you ask for?
Golfnow special for $69 with cart on the weekend.
Good
Course was in great condition, reflect sand in the bunkers, staff very friendly.
One of the best maintained course
Fairways and greens are nicely maintained. The holes are well designed with fair risk and reward trade offs. Enough varieties to keep it challenging and interesting for most players. The only complain is that it could get windy and tough.
senior
Greens had been sanded and were slow; nobody at pro shop told us of the sanding; should have had a reduction in price
fun course to play on
Very interesting course to play on. Every hole is different and requires different clubs tee off. A good course to practice course management.
You can always make something better...
We made a reservation as a 2-some and arrived in time to hit a few balls and then putt for 10 minutes. Heard our name called while walking to putting area....and the starter said we HAD to go out right away (early) with another 2-some...'so that it would free our scheduled tee time in case a foursome arrived late'. I think that risk is on the business, not the customer. C'mon, Cinnabar Hills!!
Staff
Gave staff an average rating for it seemed the pro shop was under staffed and hurried.
The course has great holes
The three nines are always in great shape. Green are smooth and fast. Fairways have grass on them at this time of year. Working GPS on all the carts is great. Its great that all three nines come back to the snack shack. I do enjoy playing this course.
As challenging as you wanted to make it!.
Played in wetter conditions but course was handling the water very well. Greens were in great shape rolling well. Challenging carries off the many elevated tee with wide landing areas. Clubhouse display of golf legends and trophies was extensive and fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
