Walk in the footsteps of pros at the Inverrary Country Club. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the golf courses at this club.
The legendary East Course is the signature course, where 15 PGA and LPGA tournaments were played including the Honda, the Jackie Gleason - Inverrary Classics, the Tournament Players Championship and the LPGA Phar-Mor Classic.
It is in excellent condition and is characterized by large, rolling greens, multiple tees, strategically placed bunkers, and lots of water. Its length from the championship tees is over 7100 yards.
The 7th hole is frequently mentioned as among the best par threes in Florida. Playing 199 yards from the back tee, it's all carry over water to a green that is angled in such a way as to look far smaller than it is in reality.

‘Old Florida’
A fun day from the bag drop (Pittsburgh Native) to the Pro Shop, and on to the Driving Range/Tee Box. This course has many memories especially seeing Jackie Gleason’s Golf Cart inside the Pro Shop equipped with his ‘oversized cooler’ to the pictures on the walls of past celebrities that have played there. The course itself was enjoyable, lots of sand (I found most of it) and the fairways wide enough so as not to get in trouble. Greens were GREAT and the pace of play good. If I could have one day, I would invite a few local HS Golf Teams out on the course, feed them a nice meal, give them a FREE round of golf, in exchange for 4-6 hours of work on the course. Just general things:pick up trash, tity the tee boxes, branches removed, some raking were needed, parking lot area policed, and just alittle more TLC! You have a good course, why not make it GREAT again!!! Next time back to the area, I will play again. Golf Now great rate, good tee time, and not too far from where I stay. AND AWAY I GO-
Wait until the Summer
Very patchy fairways and off the fairways inconsistent weeds/grass mix. Needs some rain to soften it up and get thicker grass in fairways so you can actually get under the ball. Greens were almost unfairly fast. With the pin positions it was nearly impossible to stop the ball close to hole. I shot 80 with 6 three-putts. Not really worth $50 right now. Catch it in the summer when it is around $30
Jackie, Jack and I
For $27, I'll play the East Course every time, even if the pace of play was painfully slow, the golf cart had no GPS and the cart paths were bumpier at times than a Manhattan freeway. No matter. I spent most of the time reminiscing about the tournaments Gleason and Nicklaus were playing at Inverrary 40 years ago on tee boxes and fairways that were lush and plush. Fortunately, when I came out of my reverie, I found the greens for the most part, were in splendid shape and among the fastest in South Florida. Bunkers were fluffy, too. The East Course layout was not particularly memorable, apart from a couple of Par 3's guarded by lakes, but it offered a pleasant way to take advantage of a gloriously sunny afternoon. The pro shop staff and cart attendant, the latter of whom was from Montreal, were very courteous. In fact, Inverrary is a favorite of Quebecois golfers. While there was no cart service, the bartender at the restaurant kept the restaurant open long enough to sell me a delicious turkey and cheese sandwich - another fond memory of Inverrary.
Great day of golf
We had played the west promised never to go back but the east was just great
East course is great
We played the west course a few week ago and promised myself I would never go back, the greens were in a terrible shape, but we tried the east course and what a difference, very nice course we really enjoyed it, the only thing is that there are no designs of the hole at the tee boxes and on the scorecards. Fortunatly we played with regulars and they described the hole for us.
A good track
This course is always challenging yet fair. The greens are always fast and true. Enjoyed my round as usual.
Jackie Gleason Classic
Love this course, I just wish they would invest some money improving the grass in the fairways. Greens roll great!
Lots of History.
Fun course.
Friendly staff.
Staff was on point.
Lots of History.
Par 3's were the courses highlights for me.
Ill be back.
