Walk in the footsteps of pros at the Inverrary Country Club. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the golf courses at this club.
The legendary East Course is the signature course, where 15 PGA and LPGA tournaments were played including the Honda, the Jackie Gleason - Inverrary Classics, the Tournament Players Championship and the LPGA Phar-Mor Classic.
It is in excellent condition and is characterized by large, rolling greens, multiple tees, strategically placed bunkers, and lots of water. Its length from the championship tees is over 7100 yards.
The 7th hole is frequently mentioned as among the best par threes in Florida. Playing 199 yards from the back tee, it's all carry over water to a green that is angled in such a way as to look far smaller than it is in reality.

Good course, really nice staff, could be much more.
Fairways - Sparse very thin, not much grass, but enough to hit from. If you don't like thin lies, go elsewhere.
Rough - non-existent Some grass in areas but not high enough to be called rough. Not that bad considering the very thin fairway grass. Some areas are deadpan so it's hit or miss. Sand is decent but not the fluffy kind some others have.
Greens - Excellent, very fast, rolled true. Not much to complain about.
Layout- decent, blind carries around trees guarding short cuts to greens, standard bunkers in strategic places 190-210yds to carry fairway bunkers, dog leg left and right, etc.
Overall not a bad deal if you can get it for under fifty. Rare for non-resident in South FL.
All and all course was fun to play, pace was good = 4.25hrs.
I would definitely play again. If the fairways were a bit better I would give course 5 stars, which I rarely do. There are challenging holes which makes it a great course to challenge your game. Not a good course to brings friends that whack balls everywhere. Playable but, they will just loose a lot of balls.
I want to mention my partner left wedge at practice green and ranger went and retrieved it for him and brought it out on the course. We were on 5th or 6th hole. Don't usually get that kind of service in South FL. So they get 5 stars for service, Pro shop were very nice also. It really sets the mood for a round of golf when the staff is friendly and accommodating. I wish more courses understood the importance of that.
With a little work this course could be back to it's glory days.
Première visite
Beau terrain, belles difficultés. Manque un peu d'entretien, lavés balles et affiches (#trous) manquants.
East course fantastic
Best shape ever. Greens immaculate; hard to hold.prive is great for this time of year.
Great Course
Great course always in great shape and pace of play was perfect.
"Tired Course"
While rich in history and beautiful in terrain , the golf course seriously is in need of funds and marketing creativity to regenerate itself to its former self.
An average experience
Course conditions were not notable
Staff were not welcoming
Pace was slow, waiting on most holes
Unbelievable speed of greens
The greens are so fast that is almost unbelievable. You touch the greens and it flies. Amazing speed. I suppose this is ho it feels in Augusta. The best value around. I know know why the PGA used to have the Honda Classic here
Still has hints of greatness
Although this Robert Trent Jones Sr. course is not nearly as well manicured as it was when the PGA held tournaments here, it is still a lot of fun and a great bargain. The layout is a challenge with bunkers everywhere and water on or near several holes as well. The fairways are reasonably spacious and the greens are huge, very fast and extremely well protected by large sand traps. And then there is the wind which sometimes easily adds two clubs to your shot making decisions. This place is so rich in golf history though that it's a thrill to play the same course that many legends of the game walked not too long ago.
Kxk
Greens are nice. Fairway needs a lot of work.overall not bad. Could be better.
Great greens
This was a pleasant surprise. Greens were great and rolled true. Bunkers need attention but overall great
conditions.
Great Greens, but course has no personality
The greens were very good, but this is a circa 70's course with really no personality. Fairways were sparse. See no reason to play here again.
Worth it
As women, playing from forward tee we enjoyed the course.
Great Value, Great Greens
We really enjoyed our round on Inverrary East. What a bargain for this very good RTJ Sr design. Greens were excellent, fairways were good, tees were fair but who cares since your hitting off a golf tee anyway. We will definitely come back.
Really liked this place.....
.....yes, the club house needs more than a little updating....but the course is great.....was here for four days, played 6 different courses in the area and by far these were the best, most consistent greens.....course is forgiving with open areas off the fairways, but challenging....played both East and West courses.......would play here again
Excellent value
The course is in the best condition we have seen it for years. Our main criticisms are that the marshals do not keep two balls flowing I.e if the first two ball is holding up those behind, nothing is done, and the refreshment cart was only seen twice in four hours.
Greens in great shape
Played Inverrary East the other day and was very pleased with the condition of the greens. All were lush and fairly soft, especially for this time of year. The sand in the traps was soft also. The fairways were adequate. You don't get country club lies but for a heavily played public course they were in pretty good shape.
surprising day!
I played it last year and the greens were not very nice. but this year they were amazing!
Otherwise the bunkers had not enough sand...
A jouer
Ce terrain a repris du poil de la bête et est en excellente condition. Si on pouvait le jouer à 30-35$, ce serait magnifique.
An oldie but goodie
Played this course several years ago and the course is in better condition now than it was then. It's a challenging course with water in play on many of three par 3s. Lots of sand. Greens, tees, and fairways were in good shape. Most of the Green side bunkers were in good shape, but a few needed work. Overall, a very good experience at a good price.
Greens were in overall good condition.
Going back to play the East. This golf course has a lot of history, which makes it even more interesting.
