University of South Florida Golf Course - The Claw

The course had taken a lot of rain. Even with that I stilled enjoyed my time. This course has always been a beautiful course to me. I love the layout and the challenges are not overly difficult.

Never played at a worse golf course in my life! Course was a joke, people were driving on greens and the 7th hole didn’t even have a hole in the green. It makes sense that they are closing soon

This was quite literally the worst condition golf course I’ve ever seen. One of the holes does not have a hole and there were more flag poles without flags, than flags. The worst 60 dollars I’ve ever spent.

I know the course is closing but they could have kept it up a little until then. It is terrible however the bunkers are great go figure

I Hope someone buys it and builds it back up to better standards

Sad to see the continued condition decline of this once tough course. Condition is dreadful and greens are non existent. Go just to get exercise and practice tee shots and approaches.

Very poor condition. They must be going to close the course. Greens with no grass, tee boxes with no grass, fairways aren't cut. More weeds than grass everywhere. Cart barn condemned as is clubhouse. If you want to pay $10-$15 to practice on a course, then go ahead.

I really hope USF doesn’t host any golf here because this is by far the worst course I’ve played in the Tampa area. 60%+ of the greens were dirt or unputtable, tee boxes hadn’t been maintained in forever, the bunkers were amazing surprisingly, and the fairways were in decent condition. A 1 putt could easily turn into a 3 putt due to the condition of the greens.

The course is closing in September and it seems like they have given up on any maintenance. It was bad before but this time I went I didn’t even bother putting on more than half of the holes. The tee boxes are bare and the rough that’s just off the fairway appears to not have been mowed in weeks. The fairways and bunkers are the only positive thing about the course as the fairways are mowed and at least 75% grass and the bunkers are soft. I am fortunate to have gotten a good deal on the green fee but I would not pay full price for this course.

Atleast it’s cheap. Half the boxes and greens are dirt.

The course was in horrible condition. Nothing was mowed. The greens were 100% dirt or mud was not worth 5dollars let alone 32. Spend your money elsewhere. Pictures of greens included.

The claw needs more love on and off the green! It would be a hotspot for the community if more time was spent on areas that would impact the game positively and not just for looks. I hope the claw gets a second chance and doesn’t close any time soon GREAT beginner course!!!

Course is not being maintained at all…one of the worst courses I’ve ever played…I heard that the university isn’t putting any money into the course because they’re directing all their funds to build a new stadium and it shows…
