day at knollwood
friendly staff course in great condition pace of play a little slow think marshals would help.would play again challenging but fair.
Not bad for the price
Course was a little dry and the greens were firm and fast. First time playing here on a Friday morning 10:30am and pace was slow approximately 5 hrs to finish. Challenging course with breaking greens.
Knollwood Review
Such a fun course, easy to get to if you live in Los Angeles County.
Not super fancy, but certainly nice - and the green fees are very reasonable. They send you out in foursomes (no fivesomes - so that is good!).
I love this course and recommend it for the golfer looking for a nice course, and good value.
The later in the morning you tee off, the slower the pace of play. I teed off at 7:30 AM on Sunday and was done before noon - love that!!!
There is no water on the course and in many of the holes, there is a fairway from another hole next to it - so that can be pretty forgiving if you shank the ball left or right.
Not that I enjoy spending time there, the sand traps are really well maintained, so hitting out of them is as positive of an experience as hitting out of the sand can be.
The greens are pretty fast, and they are very tricky - but in a good way.
HAVE FUN!!!
Thank you staff
We had got a reservation on golf now and did not know the greens had been punched in the last two weeks.the course lowered the green fees 10.00 and gave us as well as every body that played that day free lunch and a drink. The greens were a very small punch and we're still in great shape it was a great day. it was so great to see that a golf course still really wants to show how much they want happy golfers. My hats off to you at knowlwood I wish more were like you.
Longest round ever
They had a ladies tournament that showed up with five extra foursomes and they let them all go out. We teed off half an hour late and it took five hours and forty eight minutes to play 18 holes. I will never go back to Knollwood again.
Well designed
Staff said this day was unusually busy. Took us nearly 6 hours. Fairway so many dirt area....
However this course is well designed, green in good condition, bunkers has soft sand that day. So I loved. $32 worth to play.
I will return!
Excellent course
Only down side course is big them need to make people rent carts
Sllloooooooowwwwww
If you enjoy playing a round of golf in just under 6 hours, then this Is place is for you. Played on a Thursday morning.
Slowest round I've ever played
1:30 tee time, didn't tee off until 2:20 because they didn't have any carts. It was 97 degrees so walking was not an option. I have no idea how you run out of carts. Got to the third hole and there were three groups waiting on the tee. I've never experienced anything as slow as Saturday was. You'd wait a minimum of 30 minutes on every tee. We only played 9 holes and it took us 3 hours 45 minutes. Course was ok but I'll never come back. No one has time to play a round here.
much nicer bunkers
You had a great special that day and your employee thankfully offered it to us
never on Sunday
3 hours to play the front nine, never again on a Sunday afternoon. Tee time of 1 pm was 20 minutes late with crowds on the tee and no carts available. Made the turn at 4:15 and the snack bar was closed. Once again no Marshal and players off the blue tees when they should be playing the white or red. Extreme slow play with a wait every hole; could not get the full 18 played.
Playable
Course is under major renovation and looks like a pace of play policy is being introduced. While the course was in bad shape the greens were in good shape. Can't wait until the renovations are done and pace of play is faster than before. This has always been one of my favorite courses but pace of play and conditions always made me think twice before booking a round.
I do not want to play until nest summer.
to many fixing hale and bunker etc.
If course is not regular shape they have to tell us or golfnow.
I will not recomend until cource is regular condition.
Waist time and money.
Under construction
A lot of work happening around the course. It's going to be fantastic when it's done. But now, 17 is torn up and 10 is also torn up. I think they're putting in new bunkers. Couple of guys were tending to the green on 12 picking out the creeping St Augustine from the edge of the green. I like that they are really working on the course. Fairways were also punched recently. Next spring this place will be spectacular, but now, you need to be okay hearing tractors, and ground under repair drops.
Good Challenge
This course is down the street from my house. I've played it multiple times in the past 6 years. In the past it use to be EXTREMELY busy…like 5+ hours to complete. Due to this I stopped playing for about 2 years.
Just yesterday I decided to play due to the sheer proximity of the course. This was on a Tuesday at 1pm. My buddy and I were pleasantly surprised at how open the course was. It felt like we were the only 2 people on the course and flew threw the round in a little over 3 hours. Beware though if you try to play on a weekend as they do allow 5-somes.
Overall good challenge and layout. Greens were a little beat up but not bad for a city course. I like this course and will definitely be back to play again.
Wow..
It was a lot worse than I thought. Pace of play is horrible on the weekends especially since they allow 5-somes. Course was below average condition
Golfers Take care of your Greens!!
Course played in good time, Course well kept except that the greens need some care. Not only are some greens patchy but our players are not fixing their ball marks when they hit the greens. Come on, lets keep it nice!
Very Slow Course
Haven't played here in years but opted as it was a good meeting place with buddies coming from 3 different directions. Quickly became clear why I don't play here. Always plays extremely slow.
Greens are in good shape but soft and slow. Poor drainage in certain areas leaving soggy ground.
They let groups of 5 out sometimes and there are a lot of novices and all around slow players. Expect a 5-6+ hour round.
The range has been revamped though and is in very good shape.
Fun longer course
Great driving range. Longer mostly par 4s and 5s. With a couple par 3s on the back 9. Long course if caught behind large groups.
