If you come to Arizona to play desert golf, forget about Ocotillo. Ocotillo is a refreshing change of pace from most of the Valley's courses precisely because it isn't surrounded by desert.
The White Course is the most unique of the three. It has only one par 5, and the water is a factor on just five of the holes. But it also has the best hole on the property -- the 479-yard, par-4 ninth, which used to be an easy par 5 but is now a treacherous finishing touch.
The Gold nine is a devilish test and not just because water comes into play on six of the holes. The greens have a lot of slope in them and are difficult to read. And some pin placements are brutal; hit a downhill putt two feet past the
hole, and it might roll down into a swale and 30 feet by. Uphill putts, on the other hand, are extremely difficult to get to the hole, if for no other reason than Ocotillo's greens aren't as fast as some of the Valley's marquee desert courses.

First time
The course was in really nice condition and the pace of play was very comfortable finishing in 4 hours. would definitely recommend it if you are in the area. Not long at all and only had to use my 3 wood once all day on the par 5's. fair amount of water and sand so that makes up for the lack of distance
Best round ever
I love ocotillo! I actually cut my round short yesterday, on the 12th tee, (blue #3) I got a phone call from my wife and she is pregnant with our first child !! Best round ever! I have played here several times and I love this course. It’s a little pricey but overall it’s awesome

From the course layout, to conditions of the course, friendly staff and pace of play were all excellant!!

Just wish the range balls were still free since the rates didnt drop any....other than that...perfect day
Great time in between spring trainig games
Course was great, my son and I played while in town for spring training. Staff and the two local guys we were paired up with were extremely friendly. Would recommend course anytime.

the course is no longer managed by troon so they don't include driving range balls seems like $100 course should include. Have played here several times all of the 9's have water especially blue course. Course is very playable off the tee but if you miss hit or chunk a 2nd shot you will often find the water. Greens were average speed and blue tees were pretty chopped up but the course overall is fairly lush. Very upscale homes line most fairways, pleasant course if you are hitting it well if not you better bring extra golf balls
Nice Layout
nice layout, I've always found the course conditions to be wet and greens slow. Lots of ball marks on every green . Ive played this course since its inception and its just too wet.And I'm not talking about the lakes .It is a nice layout though .
Afraid of water?
Great course, not for the faint hearted if you are intimidated by water.
Lots of water
Enjoyed the layout very much. Lots of water comes into play. Only complaint was the lack of sand in traps.
This course with its well manicured fairways and greens would probably appeal to the average or above average golfer. It does have many water hazards which would make it tougher for the beginner. This is definitely a course that I would play over and over. Highly recommend it.
Great Day
Course in great shape, starter friendly and informational. Fairways and greens in good condition, even though the greens were slow. Always play Ocotillo at least once while visiting Arizona.

Hands down, the best course that I've played in Arizona!
Good and Bad
The layout of the course was good but overall was lacking good condition. Was fairly slow, not horrible but certainly could have been better. Overall I would rate it a 7 out of 10. Had one cart girl that was exceptionally rude.
Sheila was very nice and very good.
