About
The Ocotillo Golf Resort sits on 185 acres and features lush contoured fairways that flow gently amid patches of mature trees, vibrant flower beds, pretty waterfalls and numerous lakes.
The Gold nine is a devilish test and not just because water comes into play on six of the holes. The greens have a lot of slope in them and are difficult to read. And some pin placements are brutal; hit a downhill putt two feet past the
hole, and it might roll down into a swale and 30 feet by. Uphill putts, on the other hand, are extremely difficult to get to the hole, if for no other reason than Ocotillo's greens aren't as fast as some of the Valley's marquee desert courses.
Two holes stand out on the Gold: No. 5 is a 212-yard par 3 with water running down the entire left side; and No. 9 is a 468-yard par 4 with a carry over water from the tee -- water that dissects the fairway about 50 yards short of the green and water left to the green. Par there is a great score.
Ocotillo's Blue Course is a watery grave; water comes into play on eight of the nine holes. It's not overly long but there's so much water the length becomes irrelevant. The best hole may be No. 1, a 590-yard par 5. Big hitters are faced with the classic risk-reward: Do they lay-up on their second shot or try to fly a tributary that splits the fairway about 50 yards short of the green?

Hit the perfect day. Played early with weather conditions perfect. Love the course, plenty of possibilities of losing balls in the water but overall conditions were great. Know this isn't always the case but we hit in on a perfect day.

Blue Course was in better condition than White, White appeared to be recovering fron heat stress perhaps from last summers heat. Overall it's a great test of skills is the area
Staff
I would give this place a 5 but the cart guys were pretty rude and not helpful at all. They had headphones in and were just talking amongst themselves when I was waiting for help.
Stay dry
Horse was in great shape pace of play was awesome greens were very receptive. Staff was awesome great time had by all will gladly come back.
Fun course with Lakes everywhere
Played the Blue-White 18 in 3 hours on Friday morning, Played front 9 with a 3 some and back 9 as a single with several grouos letting me play through, Tee boxes and fairways in great shape amd greens were firm and true. Water everywhere but playable. Fun course overall, moderate difficulty. Would play again anytime.
This Course is the worst ever.
We visited this course on 3-25-21. The course allowed 5 people with two carts to go out in front of us. The 5th person was walking and cause slow play throughout the from nine. We stopped after nine holes and complained at the pro shop and it fell on deaf ears. We asked to replay the back nine the next day and we were told no. Will never visit this course again!!!!
Ocotillo - Blue/Gold
Great course. Doesn't even feel like your in AZ when the weather is nice. Lots of water. I had no business being out there. Lost lots of balls but still had a good time.

Beautiful course, peaceful setting, challenging holes, great value.
Really nice course
It’s a course you need to play more once to figure out the course layout. Lots of water. But once you know where it’s at you can play for it. Staff was friendly and pace play......did play early....was good. Would recommend this course.
Nice and Green
Course was very nice. Fairways were a little skinny in places but the greens were in good shape and the course has a very nice layout. Some greens have a good amount of slope in them. Will come back for sure.
Will try again
Beautiful course. Would like to have had a hard copy of a yardage book (The course does have an app.), but I'm not savvy enough for that. I know I will be back.
