Course Highlights
Occotillo's layout consistently earns high praise, with water features on nearly every hole creating a scenic and genuinely challenging round. Friendly, welcoming staff and strong overall value make this course a compelling choice in the Phoenix area.

Ocotillo is a one-of-a-kind golf spot in a state full of top golf spots, and the four-star golf course is suitable for both golf upstarts and old-timers.

Ocotillo's Blue Course is a watery grave; water comes into play on eight of the nine holes. It's not overly long but there's so much water the length becomes irrelevant. The best hole may be No. 1, a 590-yard par 5. Big hitters are faced with the classic risk-reward: Do they lay-up on their second shot or try to fly a tributary that splits the fairway about 50 yards short of the green?

The White Course is the most unique of the three. It has only one par 5, and the water is a factor on just five of the holes. But it also has the best hole on the property -- the 479-yard, par-4 ninth, which used to be an easy par 5 but is now a treacherous finishing touch.

Golf Octio

Course was in good shape, club house pro was hard to book through(45 mins trying to talk with him)

Could use roll of barriers on some holes, shouldn't lose a ball because you just missed the green.

Oldie but a goodie. Course was in great shape and the expected goose droppings were not an issue at all. Really enjoyed being back on this course. Good value for the money.

Ed

Nice course layout. Water didn't come into play as much as I thought it might prior to playing. Tee boxes were a little chewed up but the course was packed so it was somewhat understandable. All in all a very nice golf experience. Would definitely play it again.

Lots of water and beautiful!

We enjoyed this course, a challenge at time with so much water but really fun to figure out the best way to attack it. Very fun!

Visiting golfer

The course is set up for the local golfer with course knowledge. This makes keeping up for the visiting golfer difficult as the course requires local knowledge to be enjoyable. A course guide with yardages would have been great even if i had to pay for it. It also removes the 3-4 minutes trying to figure out club selection to keep my ball out of the water.

Water, sand and rough

This is a good course. Conditions were very good. Only put a couple balls in the many water hazards!

Course in superior condition

Very nice course, that you better know your club distances. For first time players, I would recommend a players guide (if they have one), or hopefully you play with knowledgeable partners. Lots of water, lots of carrying water. Greens and fairways in excellent condition, and rough good and playable. Not the standard dead grass rough. Greens are quick, but hold well and putt true. Highly recommend. If you are not an Arcis member, make sure you join and enjoy the cheaper rate. I just wish someone had told me about that.

Played 5 days in a row during this golf trip and Ocotillo was the best course we played…. If I have a complaint it was just that the number of bathroom facilities could’ve been greener on the course

You do not get what you pay for

Overall enjoyed the course, challenging and decently maintained. Greens have numerous pitch marks that should have been repaired/maintained. For the price range balls should be included! There were no towel buckets available and no drinking water on the course. No cart GPS, this facility really needs it due to the numerous water hazards, etc. Pace of play was marginal, there was a tournament (on a Saturday) that started earlier in the morning causing tee time delays. BLUF: not what I expected for a course charging $135 plus $$ for range balls and no cart GPS.
