Ocotillo Golf Club - Blue/White
About
Ocotillo is a one-of-a-kind golf spot in a state full of top golf spots, and the four-star golf course is suitable for both golf upstarts and old-timers.
Ocotillo's Blue Course is a watery grave; water comes into play on eight of the nine holes. It's not overly long but there's so much water the length becomes irrelevant. The best hole may be No. 1, a 590-yard par 5. Big hitters are faced with the classic risk-reward: Do they lay-up on their second shot or try to fly a tributary that splits the fairway about 50 yards short of the green?
The White Course is the most unique of the three. It has only one par 5, and the water is a factor on just five of the holes. But it also has the best hole on the property -- the 479-yard, par-4 ninth, which used to be an easy par 5 but is now a treacherous finishing touch.

Great value
Most bang for your buck. Greens fast. Awesome amenities. Course was in great condition. So good we booked another tee time.
Ocotillo
Really enjoyed the course, lots of water. Very challenging. Greens in good shape. Service was excellent
Course the same, staff is indifferent to you being there.
Lived in the area for over 12 years, played this course probably 150 times during that time frame. Troon managed the property during this time, but since the Mickelson golf group acquired property, standards are poor. Outside service people are indifferent to you being there, as are golf staff. No good morning , welcome to our property, etc.. Carts seem to be in short supply and are in poor shape. With price of tee times, range balls not included? On course restrooms are in poor shape, facility needs some attention. Owners appear to be penny wise and pound foolish. Would not recommend playing based on staff’s indifference and facility condition.
Ocotillo
Course fairways are in good shape! Greens are trashed, no watering and hard as a rock. Half are dead greens and don’t hold. Staff wasn’t friendly, saw cart girl 2 times on front and zero on back!
Blue/White Good Layout
The best part of the round was the twosome we were paired with. The group in front of us started 2 holes behind from the first tee. Ugh!
Course is in great shape; fast greens.
Nice challenging coarse
I loved it, would have been nice to have a coarse layout sheet bigger than the one on the score card. Would have used my cell but my bat was almost dead.
Lots of water on this course
The courses in the Phoenix area receive a large volume of use this time of year and the greens were a little more pitted than I was hoping from unrepaired/poorly repaired ball marks. {One of my putts bounced 3 inches into the air halfway to the hole). The fairways were in average condition. Pace of play was very good. Staff was friendly.
great layout, lousy condition
i have played Ocotillo several times in the past but not in the last 6 years until this week. The layout remains very good but the course conditions were definitely not good, greens beaten up with ball marks, fairways with divots, traps unraked.
Solid Course
Ocotillo is a fairly unique facility with 3 nine hole courses so you are never really sure which 'course' you'll play in 18 holes. There's water on 24 of the 27 holes and most of it is very much in play. Houses are on the other side of the water for the most part so it's not a course that's lined with homes. Conditions are always nice - very predictable. Highly recommend.
