Pueblo El Mirage Golf Club
About
The golf course at Pueblo El Mirage Golf Club is a challenging championship length course, but it is still suitable for all skill levels of golfer. The course features lush greens and long, rolling fairways. Lakes create water hazards that come into play on eleven holes. There are also strategically placed sand bunkers throughout the course. The signature hole is the par-4 15th hole, which calls for a start with a straight tee shot to a tight fairway and then a precise approach over water to a tiered green. The Pueblo El Mirage facility offers a driving range and putting green as well as a fully stocked pro shop.

Golfer Reviews
Disappointed
Have played here a number of times over the past few years and always had a pretty good time. A bit of a drive for us, but always enjoyed the good food and cold beer, and made a point of coming an hour ahead of tee times so we could make an day of it. Showed up for lunch today at 12:45, ahead of a 2:16 twilight tee time, only to find out the kitchen has changed their hours and is no longer open for lunch. Only open from 2-8 Tues - Thursday, 3-8 Friday and 12-4 Saturday. This might work for some local residents who go there just to eat, but is not very good convenient for the golfers. Ended up going to Mr. Sub for lunch and then played our rather slow round. The course is mediocre at best and without the lunch experience we enjoyed so much, we won’t be coming back. Too bad, we’ll miss our golf days here, but there are plenty of other courses to choose from in the area that offer full food service to golfers.

Some tlc
This course could be so pretty if a little more work was done. Super slow group in front of us making it a 5 hour round. Hole 18 in the dark. Some greens were rough and bumpy. Not sure if they roll them cause they could use it.

Staff was Great
The two hour frost delay was a bummer for anyone wanting to watch football playoffs. No beverage cart or ice stocked with cart. But other than that, it was a great day of golf.

Decent course for the money
No Marshalls on the course to monitor pace of play. Waited on every hole, there was a 3some in front of the foursome directly in front of us that was holding things up. The course condition, greens rough, fairway ok, lots of bare ground in the rough. Several holes tight with housing well within reach of an errant shot. Starter was very friendly good gal. We were delayed 45 minutes in our start which really pushed into twilight but still charged rate for the 2 PM. Due to late start and pace of play we were no where close to getting 18 holes in. Clubhouse wasn’t open when we finished 9 at very slow pace and late start getting 9 hole rate versus 18.

Good course for +100 hdcp players
This course was crowded when I played it on a Saturday. There was an hour frost delay so pace of play was affected by that. Good news is greens were in very good shape for the most part. Fairways were playable for the most part but the rough was abysmal. Even extend into large bare spots on the fairways. If you are from a part of the US where golf is simply not an option in January, and you want to play regardless of course conditions for a relatively inexpensive price, you might consider this course.

Frost delay and tournament
Pace of play was terrible. Did make adjustment on green fees. Only was able to play 12 holes. It was painful. If they have a tournament do NOT play here.

Not much fun
Showed up for our tee time Jan 17th to find the course closed due to heavy rain the previous day. Drive an hour to get there so a bit disappointing. In fairness to the pro shop they tried to call but my phone was shut off. They offered to move my time to Jan 26th at 12:26 pm which was great. They failed to tell me that we would be following a tournament. Finally teed off a little after 2 pm and had lengthy waits on every shot. Got to the 7th hole and there were 4 groups waiting on the tee. Had to quit after 12 holes as daylight was running out. There was a frost delay in the morning but there’s no way that can be entirely blamed for the disaster this round turned into. Very poor job of managing the flow of play by the pro shop.

Frost delay was too long
2 hour wait. We had called beforehand and was told only 15 minutes delay. When we got to the course, they said one hour delay. It ended up being a 2 hour wait. Plus 4.5 hr to play. It’s wayyyy too long. Will not return

Slow play
A decent course. The rain we’ve gotten has made for decent course condition>. Many fun hole with fairly long par 5’s.. Unfortuneately slow play is a problem. They sometimes allow 5’s. As we came off the 2nd hole we found 4 foursomes waiting to tee off on the 3rd. It took almost 30 minutes to clear the log jam.

Worth it!
Yes it was. Course was in OK condition. Pace was a little bit slow but not bad. The greens were slow but rolled true.

GOOD LAYOUT 30 YEARS AGO
The course is in very poor shape needs a 5 million plus renovation
No grass no overseeding done playing on the dirt clay greens are terrible patches bumps and lumps

Good course for the value
Not a bad course for for the price. Greens were a little beat up and needed some work. Course wraps around the neighborhood, surrounded by mobile homes 5th wheel homes, and track hames

It was OK
The first nine was a little slow because we followed a tournament group. They disappeared after the 10th hole (shotgun start) and all was good. The course was greener than in the past but still has a lot of thin/bare spots. Gas carts instead of electric . . . really.

Excellent Condition for the price
If you’re debating between this one and a sun city course, play this one! This is cheaper and includes the carts in the rate, unlike the sun city ones. We played this in the summer and it’s in impeccable condition compared to then. Definitely will play this one again this winter. Pace of play was the only negative. We finished the round in about 4hr15-20mins. Great course though and staff is so friendly!
