Sun City Country Club
About
The golf course at the Sun City Country Club provides a challenging championship course in an elegant setting. The semi-private course has a tight layout with fairways that are lined with trees and bushes. The trees provide plenty of shade, a welcome asset on sunny days. The greens play at medium speed and they are consistently in good condition. Several of the greens are elevated and sloped. A water hazard comes into play on three holes on the course. The seventh, a 153-yard, par-3, hole is the signature hole. It requires a tee shot over water that has to carry at least 125 yards. The upscale Sun City Country Club offers fine dining options as well as an experienced and helpful on-site golf pro.

Great father’s day
The course was in decent truth. The taste of play was wonderful and all around great day
Mature course
Sun City CC is an older course . Mature trees throughout and generous fairways. The course had been punched and aerated . This is typical maintenance for the summer season. Regardless I enjoyed this old course and would play again. The staff was great and the beer at the bar was cold . Can’t beat the price.
Chewed up and spit out
Fairways were patchy at best. Greens were terrible having just been punched making putting a gamble. Layout is nice with cart paths running the entire course. Front desk guy acted like he wished he was anywhere else.
Bit of a goat track
Definitely not worth the money. Fairways are very patchy with lots of dry dirt spots that punish a good drive.
Greens have been aerated, are bumpy, slow and also patchy.
Sand traps are hard sand and need to be sifted.
Can't recommend this course under the current state
Greens need another week or 2 to heal
The greens were recently aerated. Other than that, no complaints This time of year has very light pressure after about 11 am due to Phoenix heat, but that’s everywhere. The course has narrower fairways than most other Sun City courses. Errant drives are difficult to recover from. The greens have a lot of breaks too.
Not worth the money.
They have aerated the Greens and don't cut them very short. Very slow and bumpy.
Fairways are not in good shape with lots of bare spots, they need to water it more.
Bunkers are hard and needed to be turned over to loosen the sand.
I would stay away from this course until they start improving their maintenance.
Goat track!!
Wait another week or two
The greens were recently punched and haven’t finished healing. Judging speed is really difficult right now. Once they heal, they will be really fast due to the Phoenix heat. The course is more challenging than other Sun City courses I have played due to the narrower fairways and steeper greens. The driving range is between the number one hole and number 9 hole coming back, so any kind of slice on those two holes results in an OB and a penalty drop. I found out the hard way.
Everything was great besides the flag placement
Course was great, well taken care of, greens were just as presented on the putting green, fairways were great, only complaint was the flag placements. There were maybe only 5 holes where the flag didn’t sit directly on a seemingly impossible slope, so not a fun putting day. But everything else, great.
Great track!
I’ve only been playing gif over a year and am still but I found this course to play really nicely. You definitely want to stay out of the trees and sone of the fairways could use a little work. Over all it’s a nice course I maybe used my driver a couple times . Just tried to hit 3 w to stay in the fairway and then iron/wedge in. I will say the greens have some slope if you miss the hole it can turn ugly quick but again I’m really new at the game.
Every hit was from a tight lie
The course was, in my opinion, mown too closely. This led to a lot of brown out spots, muddy areas on fairways, and constant tough shots with no forgiveness. The traps were dry on top and very wet and heavy underneath leading to difficulty in judging how much sand to take for the shot. Had to wait on players who did not have any business playing from the tips. Twosomes seemed to not join up which slowed play even more. Frustrating day.
Sun City Country Club
The course was in good shape although there is is lot of brown spots on the fairway. The Greens rolled good. The patient play was excellent we finished in about 3 hours and 45 minutes. Overall it wasl worth the money for what we paid.
Great day
I usually never get a weekday off but I decided to play here on a Wednesday and it was a lot of fun ! The layout is great, as is a lot of sun city courses. It’s getting warmer so there’s a few dead spots but for the hot deal price, it was totally fine ! Very beautiful water on the front 9. Enjoyed the 3 hour round !!
