Pueblo El Mirage Golf Club
About
The golf course at Pueblo El Mirage Golf Club is a challenging championship length course, but it is still suitable for all skill levels of golfer. The course features lush greens and long, rolling fairways. Lakes create water hazards that come into play on eleven holes. There are also strategically placed sand bunkers throughout the course. The signature hole is the par-4 15th hole, which calls for a start with a straight tee shot to a tight fairway and then a precise approach over water to a tiered green. The Pueblo El Mirage facility offers a driving range and putting green as well as a fully stocked pro shop.

Cow pasture with houses on the fairways!
Some places the houses are within 5ft of the cart path. I'm not talking about property, I'm talking about house patio 5 ft from cart path!!

What happened to the course and why closed early?
Greens were in terrible condition with several places only having dirt and no grass. Not evenly mowed either. Areas of mud and other areas not having been watered for what seemed to be several years. Inexpensive relatively speaking for this time of year, but not worth what was paid at all.
When we finished it was 4pm and the bar was closed... on a weekend. You are losing business and revenue that could go into fixing the course.

The original layout of the course is excellent.
Course maintenance is very poor, and has been so for a number of years. The sprinklet system needs alot of work to be functional. It appears this is a priority but will take some time to be effective. Teeing areas mainly on the par 3's are appalling and need major work in re seeding and levelling. Greens are average to poor , again suffering from lack of regular watering.It is a very great shame that the course has been allowed to get to its current level but with the recent appointment of a Course Superintendent things must improve. The original layout was excellant, and the course with its many ponds is challenging.

Great for Price
Solid course - pace of play in afternoon was solid. Some greens were in rough shape but overall solid experience. Friendly staff

Overall well kept up for the price but it seemed to be teetering on the edge of sliding into worse condition. It seemed to need water badly as we could hardly get a tee into the ground , dead spots on the greens and balls hit to the greens did not hold very well at all. Still a pleasant place to play for a very reasonable price in the winter time in Phoenix. In fact I would say that price was the primary thing this course has going for it.
