Since its inception in 1992, it has gained recognition as one of the most economical golf spots in the East Valley, providing an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere for players of varying abilities. The course, crafted by famous golf course designer Brian Whitcomb, features broad, playable fairways along with thoughtfully positioned bunkers and water hazards, creating a design that appeals to novices while keeping seasoned golfers engaged.
This par-72 course extends roughly 6,744 yards from the championship tees and offers picturesque views of the Superstition Mountains. In addition to the golf course itself, Western Skies provides a well-rounded golf experience, including a cutting-edge practice facility featuring a driving range enhanced by Inrange technology, putting greens, areas for short-game practice, and learning programs. Golf enthusiasts can also shop at a fully stocked pro shop and dine at Mulligans Grill, the club's restaurant and sports bar, making it a favorite spot to visit both before and after a round.
Positioned conveniently just minutes away from Loop 202 and US-60, and around 20 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Western Skies appeals to both local players and tourists. The club fosters a friendly environment underscored by its tagline, "Where Locals Bring Their Friends," highlighting its commitment to customer satisfaction, affordability, and community involvement. Range was not open
Played at 8:50 am. Not the earliest tee time but still a nice time to start. It was not advertised that the range would be closed. It’s very helpful to get a feel before the first the tee. It’s a waste of money to spend the first 20-30 swings on the course warming up. Personally messes up the whole flow of my round. Not worth going before 10 and not being able to have any practice swings. Just my opinion, but a very common practice that was not available.
Great Course, Great People!
Western SKies is always in near-perfect shape, with wide fairways and big, soft greens. Fun for any skill level. The staff there will treat you like family, guaranteed! Five Stars.
Fun Course, and Fun People!
Western Skies is always in great shape, with wide fairways and big soft greens! The staff there always treat me like family, and I just love this course. Five Stars!
Course is in great shape
Other than the fact that knuckleheads need to fix their hallmarks on the greed, the course is in great shape. Greens were a little faster than I expected, but they rolled great. Will play again next week.
Enjoyed the day!
Very enjoyable round of golf at Western Skies GC. First time playing the course, and was pleased with the overall value of the course, including condition, amenities, staff, etc. Paired with some very nice people. I will definitely be playing there again soon.
Had a great time!
No issues at all. Tee boxes, fairways were excellent. Greens were very good. Had a great time!
Good bang for your buck.
Greens and fairways didn’t look great but the greens rolled true which is all you need to enjoy a round. If you can play for $80 I’d recommend it!
The Weather Was Perfect, and So Was the Course!
Somehow, Western Skies is always in fantastic condition! With wide fairways and big soft greens, it's great for any skill level. The staff there are super nice, including Jim, Kyle, Matt, Isaac, Parker, Maddie, Payse, and all the rest. Five Stars!
Great Course, Better People!
Western Skies is always in fantastic shape, 12 months a year! I don't know how they do it. The people there are even better. They treat me great, (and I'm a bit of a pain!) lol You'll like Western Skies. Five Stars!
