The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course
About
Located in the west valley, The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course (formerly known as the Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club) is an Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay-designed golf course with a traditional layout. The challenging course has six lakes creating water hazards on many of the holes and several doglegs. The difficult to read greens are undulating and in excellent condition. Each hole, except for one, has bunkering on the fairways or protecting the greens. The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course's signature hole is the par-4, 426-yard fifth hole. It calls for a shot off an elevated tee with water running along the right side of the fairway as well as next to the green.

Many disappointed issues for this course
The staff was not very friendly or customer focused. The fairways had tight turf with many hard pan areas. The sand traps were all hard dirt with no sand. The greens were fair and the the layout was fair. Pace of play was slow as it was over a 6 hour round and had to wait on every hole. The green fees were too high for the quality of this course.
Playing Legends during prime season
i play this course a lot, during the summer and wanted to see what kind of shape it is in during prime season (winter, spring training time). As for course conditions, it was overall good. The greens were excellent - not real fast but well maintained , consistent. The greens are probably the best part of the course. Tee boxes and fairways (which are over seeded) were in good condition. if you get off the overseer areas your are in for some bad lies (hardpan). Now, the worst part of the course - without a doubt the bunkers. Can’t even call them sand bunkers because there is absolutely no sand. Just hardpan dirt. Course management should be embarrassed for how bad these bunkers are.
Pace of play was pretty slow. They seemed to have a lot of people playing this particular day.
Legends At Arrowhead
Nice course layout, too bad there's no sand in the bunkers!
Worth the Drive.
We were located on the other side of town but we totally enjoyed our round. The gentleman that was paired with our trio was a good player a very patient.
Tough around the greens.
This course has sand traps all over the course, and at least 2 around the greens.
This would be fine, but there is hardly any sand in them, so it's very hard to get a club under them to pop them on the green.
The yardage markers are hard to find,, just a small disc in the ground, which slows play. Unfortunately we forgot our gps, really could have used it.
The pace of play was average 4.5 hrs.
Bonker Bunkers!
I have always referred to this golf course as “Steady Freddie”, which means you can’t ho wrong playing it if you have no other choice!
Today however, the fairway was dry, the greens are dry and the bunkers simply “sucked” big time! There is no sand but dry earth! Such a shame considering literally every hole is surrounded by bunkers!
Challenging but fair!!!
Nice course with lots of different challenges but the course was well maintained and so it played fair..
Poor management
Cart path only today. WHY. Dry as a bone on the entire course. Absolutely no reason for cart path only. It was 70 degrees and dry all day yesterday and today.
It was a 6 hour round. Threee groups behind us quit. At least two in front of us quit. It was STILL a 6 hour round.
Marshals driving around did absolutely nothing about the pace. Didn’t bother to check that the fairway was dry as a bone. Conditions were perfect yet management had cart path only causing people to quit or suffer a 6 hour round How does a Marshal see three groups on every hole and just smile at you like it’s normal
The lack of attention “management” gives to their own course, it’s CURRENT conditions, and their POOR ability to accommodate customers And good golf conditions is telling when it takes that long to play 18 holes
Six hours people. SIX HOURS with people quitting. Had those groups not quit I’m guessing 8 hours to finish

Sloooooooooow
Was delayed 15 minutes off of starters box and then the other tee times were packed so tightly that it took over five hours to finish around that should have only taken 4 and 15 with the delay. Restrooms were a horrible the carts coolers had no Lids water was sloshing all over all of our equipment. Somebody needs to start getting on the people who are playing slow or they need to stagger the tee times better so that pace-of-play is not an issue.
Traps
Sand traps around the green are impossible to judge they really are inconsistent sand no sand concrete
Really hurts your score don't go in them
5 (plus) hours of misery
Have not played here in a couple of years because pace of play has been so bad in the past but thought they may have worked out their problems and we would give it a try again. Well they haven't fixed a thing including course conditions which have deteriorated. We were 15 minutes late getting started and then spent much of the next 5 hours cursing. Fairways and greens are for the most part average. There is no rough. If you are off the fairway you are on hard pan. You can count 3 or 4 or more of the old pin placements on many of the greens. I was in "sand" bunkers that had grass growing in them. Some of the bunkers near the greens are almost playable but don't try an explosion shot.
I could almost forgive the course conditions ( don't hit it to there if you don't want to hit it from there) if it were not for the pace of play. Unforgivable!!!.
Pace of Play
Because of low green fees and moderate to easy length of the fairways, the course seems to attract higher handicapped players (20+). These players would look too long to find their ball instead of just dropping a new $2 ball. This was my 1st time playing the course. Even with a cart our round took 5 hours. As long as you're comfortable playing a long round I would still recommend the course.
Nice Layout and Good Greens bit VERY Run Down
My first time at this course.
+ The course layout is interesting, challenging and fair
- Driving range condition is horrid. Almost no grass to stand on or hit off of
+ Greens were in good shape albeit a bit fluffy. Challenging pin placements and multi tiered greens will keep your attention
- Tee boxes - many are ratty - infilled divots, broken tees, cigarette butts, etc
- pace of play > S L O W! We tees off at 12:45 on a Friday and took us 4hours 45 minutes and waited on every tee box and green (we were a foursome).
- Common areas - in need of TLC. Seems like people who maintain this course don’t care to keep it nice. They just do what ever they get paid to do. Too bad, because the overall track could be really nice.
Much better pace
Well I gave this course a second chance and I am glad I did. The pace of play was very close to 4 hours which was much better than the 5+ the last time out. As stated previously, the course outline is quite good. The fairways, tee blocks and greens are in good shape. Unfortunately the traps are dirt and require lots of money invested. All in all, I would still recommend the course.
Course looks great. Fairways/greensare real nice. Only thing that needs attention are the greenside sand traps. There is not enough sand in them. Thay are hard as cement and very difficult to play out of. Other than that, we had a great time.
Unfortunately very very Slow Play
I heard from friends this was a good course to play. Unfortunately today (Sunday) was not a day to be playing golf here. When I arrived the clubhouse staff told me they were probably 25 minutes behind schedule. I was 45 minutes early so not too happy. We started the round almost 40 minutes after our tee time. It took 2 hours to play 6 holes. We were told twice that the volume that day was high and pace of play was a little slow by the marshalls. The first time was in the middle of the 1st fairway, saying by the 4th hole it will be smooth sailing. Then again on the 5th hole he said hopefully by the 8th hole. Well it sped up slightly and we finished 9 holes in 2 hrs 45 min. When we started the back 9 it took about 40 min to play the first 2 holes, but after that it was smooth sailing. We completed the back 9 in 2 hrs 15 min for a 5 hour round. All in all the course was in pretty great of shape. The traps definitely require sand and maintenance, but I enjoyed the layout. Hoping this was an unusual day and I plan to give it another try in the future. The multiple tee blocks and the course layout make it challenging to low handicappers but not too bad for the mid to high handicappers as well. Put some money into your traps.
Pin placements, cart and Sand traps
The course was crowded but moved for the most part. A 5 hour round. At least three carts quit during the round that we saw including one of ours. The greens are very narrow and the pin placements we at the top or bottom of the green with only five feet on either side of the pin for many of the holes. The sand traps were like cement.
