The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course
About
Located in the west valley, The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course (formerly known as the Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club) is an Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay-designed golf course with a traditional layout. The challenging course has six lakes creating water hazards on many of the holes and several doglegs. The difficult to read greens are undulating and in excellent condition. Each hole, except for one, has bunkering on the fairways or protecting the greens. The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course's signature hole is the par-4, 426-yard fifth hole. It calls for a shot off an elevated tee with water running along the right side of the fairway as well as next to the green.

Plays long and tricky
Greens fair size, lot of undulation, difficult to read . Difficult to hold the greens from a 100 plus yard approach. Layout is quite choppy as it winds thru the community of Arrowhead.
Challenge but beautiful
The fairways and greens were incredible! Greens fast and tough to read. Edges of fairways had a hard pan that was dirt, Lots of water, but beautiful layout. The bunkers were terrible, dirt not sand.
Starter was grouchy
But loved the course.
Pace of play
Pace of play was 3:10 for 9 holes, walked off of course. Rangers did not seem to care, would not respond to complaints about pace of play. Granted this is the busy time of year, but Marshall’s need to do their job and monitor pace of play and club house should not be stacking tee times.
Worst experience ever.
After making it through 8 holes in 2.5 hours and no response from course management to speed up play we just quit. And the course is in such a neglected condition it is just not worth playing.
Great round of golf
This course is in excellent shape. The greens are fast and true. I really enjoyed playing here today.
Great Course
I am a young particular female golfer and choosy on where I spend my money. I was excited to play at Legends of Arrowhead in Glendale Az, Arnold Palmer Course. Great Layout and Design. Loved playing the course. All 18 Holes are beautiful! Courses are in great shape with the winter green grass. Highly recommended! Saw the beverage cart many times. All the staff professional and the service was helpful. Thanks to Dave- the GM. Great staff, fully stocked pro shop and clean restrooms. Thanks for a great golf day experience! Will return.
Sand traps continue to require attention
I play this course several times per year because it is close to my home. I love the layout. The greens are usually in good shape. Fairways are OK, but the rough is very inconsistent. The worse part of the course remains the sand traps. Very difficult to play from the dirt traps with little to no dirt in them. Too many traps don't even have rakes.
Excellent Condition, and new carts!
Enjoyed a round of golf today! The new carts are amazing, they are quite, upgraded seats and have a nice charging port for my Iphone. The staff was professional and quick to get my bag. Checked in and went to the range. Where I was greeted by the general manager, he was checking on the other golfers on the range. Usually get this kind of customer service at resort type courses. Fairways were overseed and lush. Allthough busy, pace of play was excellent. Great value, 5 star.
4 of 5
Basic layout. Rough was rough. Sporadic dead grass. Due to time of year. Great fairways, great greens. Greens very challenging. Lots of sand. Firm hard sand. Not alot of play. Will play again. At better time of year.
Mr Palmer would be embarrassed
If Mr. Palmer were still alive and visited this course he designed he would be embarrassed. None of the tee boxes are level and are in tough condition. Fairways are green but have divot marks everywhere. The rough has almost zero grass and is really just hard pan (think concrete). I thought the reviews I read before playing this course exaggerated the conditions of th bunkers. I was wrong. There is basically zero real sand in them. They do however have rocks. Greens are fair. Pace of play was slow so be prepared to take 5 hours to get in your round. The staff at the counter are very friendly are are the only thing the course has going for it. I played only 9 holes and quit. It’s a real shame since the layout of the 9 holes I played was good. The course has real potential but they need to spend some money and bring it back to its original condition. The course was just in pitiful shape. Save your money and spend it on another course.
Poor sand
Nice track. Interesting holes. Average conditon today. Very poor sand. If the sand was better I'd recommend this course. Some of the sand was out-right unplayable so that sucked
The Legend in AZ
My first time playing here, had a great time playing golf, looking forward to doing it again soon.
Very Slow
This is usually a nice course to play at. Today was a 5 hour round with a ton of waiting, no to mention missing the fairways by an inch or two resulted in a stroke penalty, and the only hole that had sand in the bunkers was 18. Overall not a fun round at all.
Great Staff, Good Course, Awesome Day
8 of us played the Friday during the Waste Management Phoenix Open. It is probably the busiest day of public golf for Phoenix. So there was a slight delay from our 130 tee time but the staff went above and beyond to make sure we still had a good experience. Outside staff was very friendly, polite and hustled everywhere to turn carts over. The GM, Dave, was out helping and talking with players. Very friendly and was very accommodating. The course was in good shape and a good mix tough and fair holes. Pace of play was especially good given the circumstances and would have been good on a normal day. I will definitely be returning to play again!
Pro shop staff needs work
Course in great shape, outside customer service is great!
I don’t know who hired Tony in the pro shop but the way he talks to his co workers in front of us while we were checking in is unacceptable. Was cussing and yelling at workers in the pro shop about God knows what. I will make sure he’s not working next time we come and play the course.
Same poorly run course great layout however this course is in poor shape
Yep poor shPe expensive food lots of weeds and bare spots
