Golf Club of Estrella
About
Golf Club of Estrella is the very first golf course on a daily-fee basis to be designed by Jack Nicklaus II in Phoenix, where it makes its home in the master-planned community Estrella, and offers 18 holes of par-72 championship golf over 7,102 unique yards. The many tests of the golf course will impress every level of golfer - though a choice of tee sets ensures no one will get in over his or her head. Desert and wash spaces require golfers to vary their shots while they take in vistas from the fairways shaped to the contour of the land and framed in the Sierra Estrella Mountains.
A round of golf at the Golf Club Estrella kicks off on Morning Star, a par 4 that measures 359 yards from the black tees. If you stick to the black tees, you'll need to conserve your energy for The Arroyo, the 16th hole, a par 5 that measures 605 yards. After that, Evening Star, the 18th hole, will be a relative breeze, at par 4 and just 437 yards from the black teees.
Once the round of golf at the Golf Club of Estrella is over, head back to the Player's Grill Restaurant for American pub fare and Southwestern snacks.

Excellent Value-Positive Experience
Staff was courteous and helpful; course conditions were challenging for me as a 14 hdc. It was a hot and windy day, and I struggled with club selection both ways. Oh, and the bunkers were like cement but, I'll chalk it up to water conservation efforts. Enjoyed the outing otherwise and will play as often as time permits.
Nice, challenging course
My son and I played here for the first time. First off, the staff was very courteous. The starter was very friendly and informative. He gave a great presentation on how to play the course and some great advice about how to handle the desert if you found it.
The course itself was challenging. The fairways are pretty generous so if you can keep it on the grass you can do well. If you find the desert that’s where it can bring you down. For the first time player who may spray the ball a bit I recommend you pack some extra balls. Still, even though I visited the desert more times than I would have liked to I still enjoyed the day. The Golf Club of Estrella is on our courses to play list.
Great day of golf
Took my dad for a Father’s Day round. Course conditions were excellent. Challenging course with generous fairways. Greens were fast and challenging. Bunkers were rock hard and not in great shape, this is my only complaint. Staff was great on and off the course. Stayed for a beer after the round. Very little seating in the bar area but a good time otherwise.

I am a resident of Estrella Mountain and live along the5th hole. so I monitor the condition of the course. The course is in excellent condition at this time. We played early enough that the heat was tolerable. Greens were running a little fast but manageable. Overall, it was a good round. The only blemish perhaps is our experience with the starter. When we arrived, we were told by the friendly personnel upfront that we had the option of going off earlier since it wasn’t busy. When we reported to the 1st tee, the starter was not so friendly visibly showing his annoyance. we tried to explain that we were told upfront that we can tee off earlier than our appointed time. Eventually he relented but not after showing his displeasure. Been playing this course since we moved up here in 2005. Always had a great experience except for this last round.
Always fun to play
As always, Golf Club of Estrella was an enjoyable round of golf. Course conditions are always nice and the layout is superb. Being early summer the pace was great. The only negative with the condition is the bunkers and the hard desert dirt and lack of real sand. Greens rolled decent and fairways were in good shape.
7&14
#7 Needs to be at 150-160y for Silver tees. It was 180y when I've played it several times.
#14 is a good hole, but nearly impossible from Silver at 190-200y. I move up on this one hole to Copper because it is too far for Silver.
I don't see Irons being used from here by Silver tee golfers. Some use a driver here, but have no problems playing the rest of the course at Silver tees. Hmmm
Hard course but worth it
It looked like they had just punched the course. Greens were fast but fun to play. Totally worth the money just hard when it’s getting hot in phx.
Professional
Really impressed with the course conditions during this time of year in Arizona.
Nice local option !
My son and I opted to book around during his quick trip to town. We didn't want to waste a bunch of time driving to the other side of the valley and found a convenient tee time at Estrella. The course was nice. Tee time and pace of play were accurate and right on point. We will definitely play here again if the option is available.
Great course…. Pace of play questionable
Love this course. Bunkers need some work. Pace of play was poor.
