Wigwam Resort - Blue Course
About
The Wigwam Resort possesses three 18-hole courses, the Blue Course, the Red Course, and the Gold Course. All three courses were built on a rolling terrain with mature creeks sprinkled throughout and meandering creeks running through, which can all affect shots. The Blue Course is the shortest of the three courses but Blue plays long due to the elevated greens. The creeks create water hazards that come into play on several holes and there are also many strategically placed sand bunkers throughout the course as well. The Wigwam Resort facility has various practice facilities including a chipping area and putting green.

Need to get Marshall out
Course I’d in great shape but the group in front of us was dreadfully slow.
There were at least 4 holes open by the time we finished.
We waved at the marshal to pass the information along. He paid no attention
Too bad
Non-Member Unfriendly
Caught the foursome in front of us for the 8th straight hole on #12. Finally saw a Ranger to discuss the slow pace of play of the group in front of us who was now backing us up two groups. It’s the middle of the day during the week. Shouldn’t be that difficult to keep pace. After driving up to talk to the group, he came back to the tee box to let me know that they are “Members”. Apparently it’s okay to accept bad golf etiquette and slow play as long as you tell them you’re a Member. For the price, go somewhere where they value All the paying customers. I would’ve given Staff Friendliness a 1 but the cart guys were awesome. Make sure you take care of those guys!
Challenging but playable course
Wigwam Blue was just as challenging as I remember from last year. Cart path only so walked and used a push cart for clubs. Rough was long and balls got buried and at times difficult to find but as long as you keep it on the fairway you’re good to go. Greens were in good shape. A lot of bunkers around the elevated greens make for some interesting shots. Will play again.
Stay on Fairway
The grass just off the <Fairways was just cut and left long, to much time spend looking under grass for a ball.
Challenging Greens
Classic parkland style course in great shape. Undulating greens make for challenging pots. Cart path only through Sat, 9 Nov.
Badly Groomed
The rough was left so long that if your shot was 3” off the fairway you couldn’t find your ball unless you stepped on it or stumbled across it. If you hit a ball 200+ yards, good luck finding the exact spot your ball is, the staff jokes that they were the lucky recipients of lots of golf balls, especially high end balls like Pro V and Taylormade TP5, because of the long rough.
This alone was very frustrating and why I would not recommend this course. There are much better courses for the same money for you to choose throughout the Phoenix area.
Fun golf
Good layout, tough sand traps and tricky greens. We always have fun playing this course though.
Wigwam blue overseed
Cart path only due to over-seed was not communicated when I booked bad conditions long second cut not enjoyable and made round too long
Fun Day in the Wind
We played the Blue course today and was met by a extremely friendly starter by the name of Greg. I mention this because we played earlier in the week on the same course and was met with the most unfriendly starter in my life. We saw Greg throughout our round and he was very noice to speak with on each occasion.
The course was coming out of over seeding and played fairly well given the circumstances. The wind was another major factor, that happens in golf. We enjoyed our day as the pace was great. Nothing negative to say, it was a great day.
Starter Very Unfriendly
Let's start with what was good about our round of golf. Course was coming out of over seeding and was in good condition. Balls in the rough were very difficult to find, yeah I know keep it on the short grass. We played the Blue course which provides a good test of all your shots. We enjoyed playing this course.
Now the ugly. The starter at the first Tee was the most unfriendly person you can ever meet on a golf course. We said hello and good morning to this fellow without even a reply, he just looked at us as though we've interrupted his day. As our group discussed which Tee Box that we were going to play from he finally spoke and told us that there was no Black Tees today. What he .failed to say as we found out was there was no Black Tees on the first hole and there was Black Tees for the other 17 holes. I know everyone has a bad day from time to time and this person was sure grumpy. I did tell the Golf Operations person in his office as I felt they the golf course should know when they have an employee negatively impacts the enjoyment and experience of our day.
Our experience did not meet the company mission statement about friendly staff.
Bait and switch
First I learned of cart paths only was the starter. Just ovrtseeded and mudfy, spotty grass. Just not enjoyable for an old guy.
wigwam blue
we were not told before hand that it was cart path only it was over seeded and long grass on the second cut hard to find ball not in great condition
Done before weather
Good round of golf at a nice layout. Fairways a little rough and some rough spots on a few greens. Storm moved in and played in 20 - 30 mph winds for last two holes.
