Wigwam Resort - Red Course
About
The Red Course (formerly known as Heritage Course) at the Wigwam Resort, which has received acclaim from Golf Magazine, is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort. Built on rolling terrain, the course features elevation changes that can affect shots. Mature trees are also scattered throughout to add beauty and another challenging element. Winding creeks form water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The Red Course is popular among locals familiar with the Wigwam Resort because it is considered to have the three best finishing holes in the area. Although walking is allowed on the other two courses, carts are required on the Red Course.

fun layout but course conditions especially on front 9 poor. will wait till course in better shape to return
Great
Front 9 greens were crispy and dry. Marshal said electrical issues with sprinkler system made them water by hand. Ok still got water so what’s the problem? N E way like the course will be back again. Great layout makes for a fun round.
Sunday review red course
Overall great experience. Lots of dead grass/dead pan on fairways. Fairways recently aireated and would have been nice to know. Greens very bad for wigwam standards. Also never saw beverage cart during entire round
Terrible
Course is in the worse shape I have ever seen it in. Tee times oversold with 20 minute average wait on the tee. 4 groups backed up on one hole. Used to love playing here but now it's one of the worst courses in the west valley.
Transition
Everyone complaining about the bare spots on the course are being a bit dramatic. It's May, the courses are in transition. Find a bare lie in the fairway? Move your ball to some grass, this isn't the PGA tour. The greens had a bare spot here and there but they did a decent job keeping the pins away from the bad spots. Layout is OK, nothing special. Pin placements were often just a few paces from the fringe. Relatively flat greens. Wouldn't pay to play here in prime season but if you can get a deal it's worth it.
Should be better
I’ve been playing the Heritage (Red) course for several years now. Of the 3 Wigwam courses, it’s my favorite. The condition of the fairways and greens was appalling. I was glad every time I missed the fairway because the rough at least had grass. The fairways have very sparse grass and many greens have bald spots. These were about the worst conditions I’ve seen on this course. You’d think that for a resort course, they’d keep it pristine.
Great Value
First time at this course. Round includes range, which is amazing! My tee time was at 6am so pace of play was amazing! Course was green, greens were smooth, no complaints from a beginner golfer here
Course not kept up
Fairways are terrible, very little grass. San traps are terrible and greens need a lot of work.
Found out that they punched the fairways upon checking in; tee boxes were not in good condition either. Don’t like layout on #18. Prefer the blue course.
Would play it again.
Great conditions especially the greens, although they were a little slow. First tee is a mile from clubhouse so think twice about walking. The 260 yard par 3 is interesting. I would play here again for $90
Three nice courses
This is a beautiful area and excellent layout of the courses. Played the tougher Gold course a week ago and the easier Red course recently. Everything top notch except some fairways were a little lacking on grass. Practice area excellent with free balls at driving range. Has chipping area and putting area all close together. Great place to play.
Best of the Wigwam
The Wigwam resort has 3 courses and this one is the most playable and fun. It has 2 main drawbacks: the tees are in the wrong places, as is the case with many older courses. There should be a forward set of tees at about the 4000-4200 yard mark and the white tees should be 5800-6000.
The range is sad. Mats are useless.
