Wigwam Resort - Gold Course
About
The Gold Course is one of three 18-hole courses offered at the Wigwam Resort, which was named one of Golf Magazine's "Silver Medal Resorts." Golf Digest cited the Gold Course as one of the best public courses in the state. Mature trees are present on all of the courses, as well as winding creeks that create water hazards, which come into play on several holes. There are also strategically placed sand bunkers present on the course. The rolling landscape of the course causes elevation changes that can affect shots. The Wigwam Resort facility also has a putting green and chipping area.

The course was in very good condition. The traps are strageticly placed and the elavated greens were very challenging.
I think it is a great challenging course considering some traps in the middle of the fairway within driving range.
A Real Golf Resort
Worth the drive from Scottsdale to the west. Coming from out of state, you will not be disappointed. I know it is over seeding time, but the superintendent takes pride in the condition of this course and it showed. Well done. Everyone at the resort was wonderful, helpful, and courteous. Great job!!! The restaurant, Reds, was a pleasant surprise, the food was excellent, 5 star. The service superb. This experience made me smile. Thanks to everyone at the resort.
Great traditional layout
Definitely a 4 star! Nice condition. Nice staff.
Fun time.
Alot of work needed
No water coolers on course. Umm...Arizona....Desert?
Yardage markers are in the middle of the fairway. Kinda odd, oh and they are all off by 20-30 yrds!
No way to identify if flags are back, middle, or front locations.
All of the 3 courses at the Wigwam intertwine. Unfortunatly there are no signs guiding you to the next location.
Don't waste your $ here.
The Gold course was in Fine Shape for Summer
We were very pleased with the condition of the course and the speed of play. The greens were in good shape as were the fairways. It was a nice golf day followed by a visit to the clubhouse for lunch and a beer. The staff were VERY friendly, the GM was seen out on the course and in the clubhouse on several occasions and was very cordial and welcoming.. Definitely worth the drive out from Tempe.
We appreciate you coming out to the Wigwam. We take pride in providing the best golf experience. Glad you had a great time!
I have played this course many times, but it was in rough condition that day. Pace of play was very slow. I have played all three of the courses before never encountered slow play or bad conditions like that day. I definitely will play there again since it was a one time occurrence.
Challenging West Valley course
Always a pleasure to play the "GOLD", even if not in pristine shape. Fairways and greens a little spotty.
Poor Shape
Wigwam Gold: This was before they aerated the greens, but the course was not in good shape: fairways had many thin or dirt patches, and the greens were dirt bare in several places. Overall a very disappointing experience on what is usually a well-conditioned course.
Wigwam
Friendly Professional Staff, from the bag drop, starter Pro shop, and half way house & cart service All were very Nice and helpful. The course was in great shape for June/summer golf. Will be back.
We appreciate you coming out and playing The Wigwam. Glad you had an excellent time. Can't wait to see you here again!
Hole in one!
My dad got a hole in one on 16 gold! Great course place true!!
Awesome!
Wig Wam Gold
Very dry conditions with hard surfaces. Very little grass and the bunkers needed sand. The water was FANTASTIC...GREAT color of blue! Nice course IF the price is right.
Heritage
We played a foursome at the heritage Course and it was fabulous. Great course, moderatey difficult, lots of ware hazards and sand bunkers. Staff were great, very organized.
I highly recommend it. For the price of a round it was great!!
Excellant Course
First time playing Wigwam Gold, it is well worth the tough greens and challenging holes. Would highly recommend the course, value is incredible. We will be back.
Great experience. Nice greens
Love playing the Long Gold Course. Fairways and greens in great shape still. Nice sand bunkers. Great value for afternoon round. Will be back in a couple weeks
Challenging
My friend and I decided to play this course and found it to be beautiful and extremely challenging. Little did we know that we played the most difficult of the 3 courses at Wigwam. I want to play this course again to see if I can manage to play a better round than I did. Friendly staff and most helpful.

There are water fountains on the golf course and on Gold, they are available in 7 different locations. There are yardage markers in the middle of the fairway. They are also on the side of the fairway as you enter the fairway so that we have markings every 25 yards and the yardage is also done with a laser for accuracy. Flags are identified front middle or back by a corresponding pole at the 150 yard marker with either a red, white or blue cap to indicate front middle or back. On Par 3 holes this is located at the tee box. This information is also on the scorecard. You are correct on the need for more directional signage which is currently being addressed. We have two of the courses that intersect, not 3 and when playing Gold, its only in one location.
