Great views !
This course is a driving course. Hit it straight and you will score well. Lots of Desert close to the course. Views are great, and the walk in the park factor was good.
Fun course
1st time I had played this course. It had a good layout with some challenging blind shots. Most of the par 4s played the same distance.
The only distractions on this course are the spectacular views.
Start to finish, a first-class and welcoming experience. Tee box set up accommodates all levels of golfers; fairways are forgiving but your short game will be challenged. Greens are immaculate but tough; the grain of the grass is in play. Overall, the course is interesting, with variety in the hole layouts and elevations. It's downright fun.
Great views and a wonderful layout.
While were were unaware of the shotgun start format in play at our 12:30 tee time, we enjoyed our round. The tee boxes were cut perfectly and were in great shape. We were paired with two members who were very cordial and fun partners for the day. I hope that all members treat "outsiders" as well as we were treated.
The fairways were all cut wonderfully. While we had to wait for the group in front of us at times, it was never a hindrance to our rhythm.
There is no cart service and the snack bar closes early in afternoon. If you hit the turn early you have to stock up or be out of luck. However, the staff made players aware of the snack bar/cart issue at checkin so that players could prepare.
My only wish is that the booking process made players aware of the shotgun start but that is a minor issue.
I hope to play here again soon.
Highlands 12/23/12....awesome!
Quick pace of play...superb conditions! Staff was VERY accomodating in fitting us in as we were running late. A great day of golf!
Great views and challenging
Played from the Championship tees, this course was tough. I'll move up next time. Summer greens were fast and range was in good shape. I have played in Winter and over seeded greens were fairly slow which could explain various reviews here. I also noticed a reviewer panned range for having mats but I think they are only user for a couple weeks after overseeding.
challenging
changing tee off spots makes the course feel like a new course every time...rolling fairways, bunkers, blind shots, all keep you on your toes...
shot gun format not great, long way from greens to next tees
tees for shot gun play unreliable
greens from fairway hard to see
green conditions bumpy and inconsistent
In Great Shape, solid value
Great course for the $. Pace of play is always quick because most of the groups are members who know the course/layout and don't hesitate to hit shots. Greens are a little slow but in great shape. The only downer is there is no cart service, they should reconsider Weekend cart service only.
Good course for medium to high handicappers
Course was in fairly good condition but the greens were quite slow. Golfnow did not indicate that the tee time was for a shotgun start. I only found that out at check in and that should be known prior to booking.
Beautiful Views, nice course.
Nice wide fairways, very interesting combination of holes. Good value for the money.
Forced carries, water....really fun!
Course was in great condition. The greens have subtle breaks to make putting a good test. The bad: Snowbirds have got to start repairing ballmarks. It adds an unnecessary "test" on many putts. I don't find this to be an issue in the summer when the "birds" have left town.
A well maintained interesting course
Very friendly members. Course in good condition, Interesting holes, some great views. A fair and fun course to play.
The Highlands
We played on the 9th- 2 weeks before it closed- and it was in great shape, as always. The price was right and the staff is always great. We love playing here.
Clubhouse has an impressive array of clothing.
The facility (clubhouse and practice area as well as the course) is among the best.
The course was in great condition.
I recently played this course several times just prior to overseeding. It was in great condition. The course was challenging but not overly difficult for a desert course. The greens and fairways were in excellent condition. Pace of play was good as it took just over three hours to complete a round. I am looking forward to returning. I cannot believe the condition of this course one day before over-seeding. One of the best kept courses in Tucson. The only problem with this course is the driving range uses mats.
A couple of holes you would like another chance at:)
At this time of season, it was nice to find a course in pretty decent shape
good track great views superb conditioning
one of tucsons hidden gems, outstanding views.
well groomed, like a country club.
Challenging track with good variety of holes a lot of fun to play.
The course is a very nice track, with all the trouble you could ask for.
Staff was friendly and courteous. Greens putted fast and true.
Wide fairways, a great layout, trickey but fair putting surfaces
Really enjoyed playing Heritage Highlands. Generous fairways, excellent conditioning, greens will fool you unless you pay attention to the location in reference to the Tortolita Mtns. All putts break away from the mountain, putts toward the mountain are slow.
Nice staff, great 19th hole, good food.
