Raven Golf Club - Phoenix

Nothing negative to report here. This is a beautiful facility with outstanding practice areas, a great clubhouse, and friendly staff. Conditions on the course were the best I saw in the area this year. Tees and fairways are very lush. Greens are fast and roll true. Pace was very good, finished un under 4 hours without pushing anyone.

Course layout is a little boring to me. There are a lot of straight holes. A few of the holes offer interesting looks off the tee, but the course plays right out in front of you. I like a little more variety. Not a knock on the facility, it is what it is. This is a premium course, and they actually are not killing the player with the price like some of the others around town. I'd say good value for the great conditions and nice scenery.

This course has always been a favorite and this year was no exception. The course was in the best condition I’ve ever seen it. Greens were the best of the 5 courses I played this last week!

Since the site won't let me remove a prior review I am updating it. As I mentioned, the course condition is awesome. After my review, the course GM contacted me and we discussed the issue. He was more than accommodating and sympathetic to our concern. I truly believe it was a one time rare incident that caused the problem. My group and I are looking forward to getting back to Raven to play the course again as soon as possible. Thank you very much for the GM reaching out to discuss and resolve the issue.

First of all, the course is beautiful. My issue is with the clubhouse staff. Totally incompetent. Golfed the course with friends from the Dakotas on 2/16/2023. Pace of play the whole day was terrible. Staff response was a joke.

Our 2:08 tee time was later on, and we knew we'd be cutting it close at the end, but we should have easily been able to be close to finishing by 6:30 when the sun went down. Didn't work out that way. We still had 3 holes to play when that time hit.

One of our group called the clubhouse around hole 11. We were informed that the Ranger, who we hadn't seen the whole afternoon, had already gone home for the day. They sent out a young bag attendant who, unfortunately, got to hear about about our frustration with the pace of play. We were very cordial with him and acknowledged that he shouldn't have been the one to speak with us as there was nothing he could do. Very nice young man. He did say there were a number of groups ahead of us not keeping pace. We found out later that there were 3 groups ahead of us that were part of a bachelor party. That explained why were seeing, at times, 2 groups of 6 playing holes and, at one point, a group of 12 on one of the greens.

When we had to quit because of the darkness we went in and spoke with the representative in the clubhouse. His response was basically, "it's not my job". He said there was a Ranger on the course earlier but indicated, "Once the Ranger goes out, I don't know if he is doing his job or just taking a nap under a tree"? He also said he was being overwhelmed by us politely voicing our concerns and asking questions. I own an insurance agency and if my staff treated my clients with the incompetence we received, they'd be fired.

Again, the course itself was wonderful and in great shape. Unless the staff is educated on how to offer even basic customer service though, we won't be back.

Terrific conditions and great layout. Staff was very friendly and accommodating except I contacted them via email regarding the ridiculous 5.5 hour pace of play but they never bothered with a response.

For the first time we played in 4:30. It’s always been over 5. Although we saw no marshalls pace of play improvement will make us return.

Great Course in great shape, greens good but with some ballmarks -- to be expected everywhere these days.

Pace of play was fine, they don't pack the course. Only negative was the on course food/beverage prices; I paid $14 for a coke & bag of chips. OUCH! Play the course don't buy anything from the cart gal!

We played on a beautiful Sunday afternoon when you might expect play to be slow, but we moved right along. The starter was informative and friendly, as were the other employees we encountered. The course is quite long from the forward tees, but many holes have a lot of roll. We enjoyed the course and will go back.

Basically perfect. Great pace of play, and monitored for a change. Refreshing that they were only charging normal winter rates, and not insane stupid superbowl 2x markups. Very happy.

The course was fun to play. Most all the holes lay out in front of you from the tee box. Greens were not too fast and the fairways and bunkers were very well maintained.

A must play every time in the area.

Practice facilities top notch.

Check in was easy & efficient and staff prompt in loading bag on assigned carts.

Course conditions outstanding, from tee boxes, sand and of course, very true rolling greens. Fairways cut to perfect length.

Lunch before round was excellent, as were servers.

Great day of golf.
