Raven Golf Club - Phoenix

This course is awesome!! Green, tree lined, and difficult, but playable! Loved the speed of the greens (they were FAST!). Fairways were pristine and the greens were true!! Will definitely play again the next time I'm out!

In great condition, interesting but not memorable layout. Got the first tee time when pricing dropped so good value. Pace of play a little slow, no marshalls, but only 20 mins over expected. Refreshment cart only came passed once. Full price probably a little high.

Course was great and played in just over 4 hours. Only complaint was sand was crusty/ inconsistant. I would recommend this course to all. My partner who was visiting was impressed that it wasn't a desert course.

Would have rated the course a 5 if it weren't for the bunkers. Terrible shape but the fairways and greens were terrific

Great day at Raven. Only complaint was that bunkers weren’t well maintained. Staff was awesome and it’s a fun, relaxed course.

Great course in wonderful condition at at an affordable rate. Nice amenities with range balls included. I had a relative come visit and he had never played a course in AZ before and I hadn’t played here yet. He was impressed and I was pleasantly surprised. Would definitely play again.

Loved the pine trees framing each hole, everything great except sand traps were very hard with no sand.

We had lunch before the round in the restaurant, not sure how you get a greasy quesadilla. As we sat there we could watch groups tee off the first hole. Three carts with six people it was obvious they knew each other. A couple of guys tee off, then some commotion, a girl tees off and then more guys. Off they all go! We finish lunch and say something in the pro shop; reply was it's not allowed. Get to the cart, no keys, but found one in a drink holder that wouldn't fit. The worker said key is broke off in the lock? What a pig of a cart,. Brakes wouldn't set or keep it stopped on a hill and pedal to the floor waiting for it to go.

The round was slow, but on hole 7 standing on the tee at a par 3; waiting of course. Next whole here's the six some blaring music, laughing, drinking and driving to each person's ball as a group.

Called the proshop on 8 since we were standing in the fairways with two groups ahead of us. Of course the six some is on the green! 9th hole the Marshall comes to the tee box and explains they're faster as a six some than if he split them up?!?!?

As much as we can figure, our tee time was more than half hour after they teed off. So did groups quit, jump around them, or what? However, the Marshall assured us they were keeping up with the group in front of them. That's BS!

Proshop, Marshall and staff fall far below poor. Got a hole in one on 14 and didn't want to go in the proshop to deal with them! Can't hear more lies/BS from those guys!

The course is challenging and in good shape. Range balls come with the round. Range is super busy.

I still can't recommend the course because of poor course management

Reviews of the quality for price, and the fabulous greens, made me select this course to take a few friends to during their brief stay in town. Overall, it was a good selection though the price was very average for the condition. Greens were good but not amazing. Practice area was small for the number of people they put out. Starter was great, good sense of humor (don't recall his name but he's the longest running employee there I believe at 10 years +, or so he said).

Layout was pretty standard for an "in city" course without room to roam, so many back and forth fairways which actually come into play frequently from players with errant shots. Decent food and drinks at the snack shack (burgers even, not just hot dogs/sandwiches!).

In summary, I would play again but I would either utilize the players card to get a discount or watch for a discounted day/time, as it's not worth $100+ per round in my opinion.

Needs work on the staffing, no one to get us a cart…no starter!

It was a very enjoyable round. I liked the type of course that it is, with the pine trees lining the fairways. I thought it was a very well groomed track. We played our round in 4 hours and were only waiting a few times, for a minute or so. The beverage cart gal was very nice. I would definitely recommend this course!
