Raven Golf Club - Phoenix

Very poor - non existent greeting at the bag drop , basically look after yourself , very confusing getting a golf cart , even though they have your name and time on them the starter was putting the wrong people on carts and then trying to get more carts for the people who seemingly already had a cart had he not messed with it .He was catering to an Asian woman who was there with three guests but not on the tee sheet , perhaps a member because she was the priority getting carts and getting to play with no tee time .

The fairways and the scenery are the best thing here , the tee blocks were uneven , long and had many divots . One of the two local men we played with told us jokingly that the greens had hail damage , this because there were so many unrepaired ball marks that the greens looked like someone had taken a machine gun to them , the effect was that it was like putting on freshly aerated greens with putts bouncing off line .

This should be about a $40.00 course . Quite disappointing !

I never write reviews. I am actually writing this mid round. Because I have so much time waiting between shots.. There of course is no Marshall to help the situation. The course is beautiful but the traps are horrible...they are dirt and good luck finding a rake. The greens roll true. We got paired with a guy “trying to make the tour”. He quit after 4 holes because he ran out of golf balls. He had no business being out here, again no Marshall to police the situation. If you enjoy slow play, waiting 5-10 minutes between shots. Bunkers which will ruin your clubs, this is the spot for you...

Great layout and in good condition except for sand traps very little sand will be back thanks

Course was very nice and well kept I would highly recommend. This course to everyone!

Putting on the greens is horrendous, golfers are not repairing their balll marks on the greens and I'm talking very many 40+ each green, paying this greens fee is not worth this amount. Fairways are nice, hired help is there to collect their tips, just a bad experience for the first time. Not worth the drive.

Will not return

Course was in good condition. Cannot highly recommend the course as the traps are in terrible condition. Weeds growing in them. Very little actual sand, mostly rocks and dirt. The price is a little high based upon the sand condition

Course is nice, staff is friendly, but in my opinion it’s overpriced. I paid $185 for the round, $6-$7 for beers and $10 for a hotdog. That’s right- a $10 hotdog...

There are other courses that would be better bang for your buck. You won’t be disappointed if you play here as long as you are okay with spending $$$. Also took 5 1/2 hours but that’s what you can expect when you play public courses. Thought the $185 price tag would eliminate that.

Traps are beyond horrible condition. They are just dirt. At this price point they should be way better. Course is terrrific but won’t come back until I know traps are fixed.

Played this course twice in a 5-week period, both days before heading to PHX, to which The Raven is very close (15 minutes). Course was in great shape. Played with two local guys, who were super nice and made use feel welcome. I definitely recommend The Raven.

We always enjoy playing the Raven Golf Colurse. Very challenging and in good shape. the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

This is our last round this trip to Arizona, and it was a good one.

The course was in really good shape. We were a twosome with a full course ahead of us, but we still managed to complete the round in about 4.5 hours. And everyone that we interacted with were friendly.

The course itself is fairly straight forward. It is easy to see where you are supposed to hit the ball. And the sides of most fairways are mounded to help funnel the ball toward the middle.

But there are enough challenges to make the course fun. There are well placed bunkers. There is water. There are plants, trees and dirt between holes. And there are undulations especially near the greens.

The greens were decent. The ball rolled well even though the grass is a bit thin and there are repairs that have not completely healed.

Overall - worth a visit.

Has not been on my radar but was very pleasantly surprised what a great golf course this is. Not a desert course full of a bunch of forced carries but a great layout. Very visually attractive and challenging course with ba great variety of holes. Everything you want. Short and long par 3, 4,5s. Well placed bunkers and water hazards. My opinion one of the best in the Valley. Will play again.
