Ahwatukee Country Club
About
The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

A GOOD Friday
Was able to book of golf now for Friday morning. I have read several of the last reviews and was concerned.
I found the course to be in acceptable shape for AZ this time of year.
There were some patches in the fairways and greens that were rough, but for the course is extremely playable.
We were a twosome and the group in front of us had use play through so pace of play was good.
Definitely will be booking again.
Was in great shape
Great deals, friendly staff, moved well + in good shape
Not worth the money!
Course is not in very good condition, greens splotchy and not green, some areas they were laying new sod it was so bad and considering what a round to play there cost. There weren't a lot of players on the course which makes sense considering its condition. My bar bill was outrageously expensive. Won't go to that place again for drinks.
Course in bad shape
$82 to play this course. Fairways are all weeds. Dirt mostly outside of fairways. No cart girls on course. Snake bar only had premade sandwiches. Not worth the money to golf here.
Slow pace
Now sure why 5 hours plus is acceptable.
Especially when starting in 9 am. That was disappointing.
Course has some tore up spots and the rest of course seemed average
Great day of golf.
Great staff, great course and practice facility. I’ll be back.
The course has improved over the last couple of years. The greens are slow but are in good condition. The fairways are better than in the past and seem to be getting more water but could use overseeding. Can be a good value.
Don’t miss out
Too many negative reviews are posted regarding this course. Greens were really good, tee boxes need some work, but not horrible, fairways in decent shape. You don’t like your lie, just move ball 3 inches and it’s fine. Pace was good for 6 holes, but got backed up with a slow foursome. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. One of the best values in the valley. Hoping we can get closer to 100 degrees and chase the snowbirds back home so we can play at a healthy pace.
Avoid at all cost.
For the same price you can go play a real golf course. This course is nothing but a sandlot that screams for hydration. I had to leave after 7 holes due to the condition of this course. The other course is even worse.
Fun playing
Staff is always great and course conditions are improving over time. Pace of play is normally pretty good but was backed pretty good with three groups backed up on the 11 tee so I got tired of waiting and left. I will play here again
First time visit
This course is over priced and in really poor condition, the website was deceiving showing pictures that didn't reflect the true condition of the course. I wouldn't recommend it.
It’s Tukee
Wide open course fairways are in good shape for how busy it’s gets. Greens are excellent. Great for beginners or high cappers like me.
Good course, getting better
Good pace, nice marshall, beverages prices reasonable, good kitchen, great staff. Carts are gas and getting old. Fairways and aprons around greens are too high. Greens roll well. Cart paths in much better shape.
Reasonable Course
Fairways are OK, greens are good. Besides that nothing fancy. Course design is kind of boring. Speed of play was due to the time (6.50am) great. Staff was friendly. As we played early Monday, nobody had emptied the trash cans, yet. So there was a lot of trash from the weekend on each tee.
Nice track
The course was in good shape considering the traffic it gets. Good tee boxes, fairways in good shape and good greens that had solid rolls. Good course for all levels - especially beginners. Fairly open and straight on most holes.
Nice conditions but slow pace
The pace of play of a group who started a couple holes ahead quickly impacted play. What was a single and a twosome ahead of us also merged at the second hole due to the pace of the foursome ahead of them. We ended up skipping two holes, and these two groups as it was clear as we watched them complete the hole we were waiting on the tee for and start at the next tee box we’d be in for a very slow round. We played the remaining holes complete unimpeded.
Fairways and greens are in very good condition, but if our ball missed the fairway it was unlikely to be on any grass.
