The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Constantly Improving
Greens were running well and some challenging breaks.
Maintenance guys were fertilizing fairways. Bathroom at clubhouse center entrance was completely renovated and very well done! Beverage cart very active and circulating. Marshall out there to keep things moving and advising of any backups. Overall a very pleasant experience, as usual.

Course is ok
Overall the course was a 3 out of 5 stars. Tee box areas little banged up. Greens on the back nine full of fungus. No cook for food Monday or Tuesday!??...cart girl was great! Green fees could be a little lower for this course....

Not worth the money
For the amount they are Charging for this course it is definitely not worth it. Perhaps once upon a time or used to be a “country Club’ but it is a poorly maintained city course now. The half way house was closed and the greens are in terrible shape.

The stimpmeter would have blown up!
Greens could not be played. The stimpmeter would have blown up. I have never seen greens that bad.
No Marshall to be seen, group ahead of us very slow played from back tees short on every hole. I wouldn't care if the price matched the course!

Nice layout, poor condition
The course is not in good shape. Which would be fine if they didn’t charge as if it was a higher end course.

Dissatisfied
The course was so run down
They definitely try and put to many people on the course at once. We were held up on every tee on the front nine by at least 5 or more minutes. Then after being held up on that front 9 one of the rangers approached us as we were finishing hole 18 and told us how bad of golfers we were and we were holding up people. He was very rude and used terrible choices of words. Unimpressed

Not worth what they're asking
Found the greens to be barely playable with alot of treated bare spots, mud holes, etc. Plays like a links style course, but only because that's where it's being watered. I can tell this course was a once great course but it's just not being cared for properly right now. I'd pay half what I paid - but not $91. You can get a much better experience elsewhere.

Overbooked 11:52. Not enough carts. Asked for money back before tee time. Ugly course too

Staff Make the Difference
Haven’t played this course for about 5-6 years. Starter was a very friendly guy with lots of energy and humour. Treated us as valued clients and respected our time and the time of others. Got us out before our scheduled tee time.
Pace of play was slow on the front nine but the friendly marshal eased the tension with interesting stories while we waited and shared knowledge about the course history and layout. Pace was better on the back nine.
Fast greens with some ground repair in process on and around a couple greens but overall the course was in relatively good shape.
We will be back!

Of course was in terrible condition and it took 5 hours to play no Marshall very slow players up front wouldn't do it again

DISTASTER
THEY BOOK TEE TIMES IN 7 MINUTE INCREMENTS, WE WERE 30 MINUTES LATE TO TEE OFF AND STILL NO CARTS WERE AVAILABLE WHEN WE WERE FINALLY READY TO GO. TOOK A LITTLE OVER 3 HOURS TO PLAY THE FRONT NINE, I HAVE PLAYED HUNDREDS OF ROUNDS IN ARIZONA THE PAST FEW YEARS THIS WAS EASILY THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

Disappointing and Disrespected
The slow pace and poor condition of the course for the money wasn’t the worst part of this experience. My dad and I play a scramble usually so we can play faster. But on the 18th hole the Marshall followed us about 20 yards behind every shot and didn’t let us play then aftee we all (the other 2 guys that got paired with us) made it to the green the Marshall kicks us off the green. On the 18TH!!!!!!!! I had never been so disrespected before in my life. The Marshall’s name was Darrel and if he’s there just save your money. Turn around a go home. He won’t let you enjoy your round at all. What a TERRIBLE experience!!
