It's Coming Along ..
Good fairways, just opened after overseed so greens were a bit slow but beautiful. Still tough, there IS a lot of water. Garmin only knows about the front nine, there is no 10-18 on my watch. Makes it tough to judge yardage. Course is still not listed in National Course Rating Database so we could not figure our score to post on AGA. Amenities non-existent, no patio, no alcoholic beverages, no potable ice, no beverage cart.
Don’t waste your time or money
The course is in terrible shape- let’s say the owner does the bare minimum to maintain conditions. I feel sorry for all the homeowners that bought golf course property!
Wouldn’t Play Free
Dog excrement all over the place, terrible swamp waters, no real club house. Driving range was closed, but the course was opened!?? Don’t waste your time.
Another round at the Lakes
Still filling some of the lakes but the tees abd greens are in better shape than some other courses in Ahwatukee. It is coming around.
Par 60
Came into town to visit. Needed to find 18 last minute and we found this course. Didn't know it was a short course, but had a good round nonetheless. Really helps you focus on the short game, I only used my driver two or three times I think. If they had a clubhouse and some food/drinks, this place would be 5 stars.
It was okay
No clubhouse but that’s not a big deal. Easy drive and not far off the freeway although apparently driving the speed limit in a neighborhood was against the religion of the Range Rover behind me.
Checked in and it was weird that the app only charged a fee with greens due at checking in but again, not a big deal. The young lady checking is in was nice. Older gentleman in the trailer with her not so much. We picked up our cart and drove to our vehicle. He then made a point to let us know that cats aren’t allowed in the parking lot. No visible signs but he said there was. I said okay, we won’t do it again and when done but felt it necessary to keep saying it. So I went to look for said signs and low and behold, there’s a sign…that faces the parking lot and is BEHIND all the carts.
Meaning:
- as you walk up the cats, your back is to the sign.
- as you drive away along the path, your back is to the sign
- to enter the lot, from the cart storage, you have to go around their trailer, and where you come out, you can’t see the sign.
To be fair, the one time you can see the sign is when you are coming off 18 and returning the cart.
Well…other than an embarrassing tee shot on 1, with another person waiting, it was a fun round. It was off that they didn’t tell us we had another person joining with us, which is always fun. As we were leaving the first tee the gentleman that drove up didn’t say anything about jumping in with us, so we figured he didn’t want to roll with us so we left the first tee and headed on. Never saw him for the rest of the round as pace was solid on the course.
Super humid day and there were some bare spots on the greens but overall a well cared for course. We’ll come back but maybe in the afternoon/evening when the older guy may be gone.
