POOR CONDITION AND OVERPRICED
AL USED TO BE A DECENT AND FUN COURSE, BUT NOT NOW. TREES ARE GONE, FAIRWAYS ARE GREEN BUT HARD-PACKED, GREENS DO NOT ROLL WELL AND LAKES ARE MOSTLY DRY. BEST THING IS YOU WON'T LOSE MANY BALLS IN THE WATER BECAUSE THERE IS NOT MUCH LEFT. GOOD PLACE FOR BEGINNERS TO PLAY/PRACTICE BUT NOT MUCH ELSE. PRICE IS MUCH TOO HIGH FOR WHAT THEY OFFER.
Novice golfers
We enjoyed this course, opportunities to use lots of clubs. A Hole in One on #6- very exciting for someone golfing less than a year
You get what you pay for
I believe that in its heyday, this was a fun and challenging executive course. As it stands now, it is really only playable if you can stay on the fairways, which are not in good shape either. The greens look great from afar, but upon reaching them they are like a a crown of broccoli to play on, and I mean that literally. The ball cannot stay down, on a putt and a chip may land and literally die on the spot. I played first thing on a Sunday and finished in 2.5 hours, so the pace was great, and if you don’t score your round and just want to play for fun it can be worth the $30. If you are serious about your play and get frustrated easily, don’t play this course. By the way, gopher hole on first green attached!
Great for new golfers
If you’re new or with new golfers, this is a non-intimidating experience. Good and seasoned golfers would recognize that it lacks in certain areas. But for newbies, good course.
Glad it's back!
20+ years ago this was my favorite executive course. Challenging and usually in excellent shape. I'm very happy it's open again. Tees and greens are in good shape. Bunker sand qualty is outstanding. Fairways are mediocre, and off the fairways it's mostly dirt, weeds, or clumps of grass. Water in the lakes is low, and some are ompletely dry. The design is still solid, and pace of play was wonderful. The pro shop is a tiny trailer. The saddest thing is that 90% of the trees are gone. Still, it's fun to play and a pretty good value!
needs water
The greens need to be rolled Every green is rippled When putting no telling where the ball is going to go Also rough is terrible The course needs water Terrible shape Should not charge what they do for green fees
Questionable staff
I use play here a lot before they closed down years ago, so I was excited to play it again after they reopen and this was going to be the first time. I booked a 5:45 (the second earliest tee time) to get a good jump on it. Got there 15 minutes and the place was a ghost town. 5:45 comes around and as we were getting in our cars to go play a different course, staff finally shows up. Needless to say we didn't stick around to see what the conditions were like.
Good, but not as great as earlier in the year
Great price, great pace and great layout; however, range was mats only and the greens needed to be mowed. This was unlike what it’s been in the past (last month for course, last week fir range). All in all, good.
Awful course
I would have rather putted in a cow pasture. The layout was okay, but the quality was just terrible, definitely not worth the $45. Also wanted to get a snack in the clubhouse(which is a trailer) but they ONLY had Payday candy bars. If could give it half a star, I would.
Tough Times have hit this place!
First off I understand you’re trying to get the course back together. But the greens were absolutely unacceptable. Course is not worth $42. And I was charged twice even after I was told I would not be. Gentleman was not there to check us in on time. end of the day I was charge $70 to play a nine dollar course. The staff were not helpful with exception of one gentleman. Without course knowledge don’t know where number 1P tee is. Tough. I’ve tried to call the golf course for a refund and the phone number that is provided from golf pass is not the correct number. Tough day best part of it I wasn’t working, but did almost fall when I saw that bridge if you played that of course you know what I’m talking about Tough day don’t mention the issues with staff at I start. He was right, I should have left when he said “good” when I suggested under my breath!
Needs some TLC
Still a good layout. Greens, fairways and bunkers were in pretty good shape. Just needs some work cosmetically.
Ahwatukee Lakes Disater
Ahwatukee Lakes was a big disappointment. Very poor conditions from tee to green. Slow play, tremendously under staffed, makeshift facilities. The check in area was an umbrella at a card table. Nothing like the description online, and one of the guests had his reservation redirected from Ahwatukee County Club to here. I would not recommend it even for a practice round
The course is nice for the level of disrepair
The course would not be bad if you had access to restrooms and a pro shop with a restaurant in it for what they’ve done since it’s re-opening in 2022 it’s not that bad, but they need to get bridges repaired and refill all of the lakes.
Once they build the pro shop with a restaurant and have Cart beverage cart persons on staff it will become a really nice course. They also need to put up a fence around holes 1-9 to keep people from damaging the course.
Super amazing staff
The staff guy was incredible. Offered to carry our clubs and wiped down our clubs after the round! He was wonderful. Pace of play was great…fairways weee in touch shape but for the money, would play again. Mid range course but fun for beginners
