Rough shape
This place is usually always a little rough. However, the greens seemed especially bad this day. Was also tough to walk the course due to a lot of standing water.
We play here quite a bit and it’s so much better than it was a year ago. Sometimes the play is a little slow but there are some elderly people that play and it’s good for them. My only complaint is the puddles of water in front of some of the greens that turn into muddy ruts as carts go thru them. You can’t beat the price for 18 holes.
Improving
The fairways and greens are much improved over last years condition.
Good and Bad
Read numerous reviews before making my tee time here and frankly I often find some people who expect country club conditions at municipal prices. This was mostly true here as well however there are some things worth mentioning. STAFF: There was one person in the pro shop when I checked in. He was a little short tempered. Understandable as he had numerous other things to do and he was by himself. COURSE CONDITIONS: The course was in good shape considering the amount of play it gets and the restraints from government owned golf courses. PACE OF PLAY: Pace was average and the round was overall enjoyable. Good course if you are a beginner or need some work on your short game.
Paradise Valley
Course Staff very welcoming and professional Fun course to take my wife to play together Great value this time of year
Best Value for the Price
Great course for new golfers. Very low elevation change and hardly any houses in play from the tee boxes. Water hazards on only 4 holes. Has a driving range, chipping area and putting green to warm up on. Snack bar has few choices for food and only fountain drinks and bottled/canned beverages to drink.
Great course for the price
Greens could be a little better taken care of but really great course design
You Get What You Pay For
For the price, I expected much of what I experienced. The pro shop wasn’t much to write about (still grabbed my souvenir course golf ball), the concession/club house portion was a bit outdated compared to courses surrounding it and the course was averagely, maybe below-averagely tended to. The putting greens can be wild — much more inclines and declines then I’m used to. The layout of the course is really tight with a lot of overlap of tee boxes and because of that I lost two balls simply because people picked them up and took them and a few more “fores” are yelled out (I was almost hit myself). It’s also right next to a track and field so it was pretty loud at times since there was an event happening. If you’re into wild life on the course, we saw two groups of coyotes casually walking around the fairways and there are a ton of geese that hang out on two holes. The little finches will try take food out of your cart if unattended, so watch out for that. Overall it was still a nice time. I probably will come back but it’s not on the top of my list.
Fun course
Wouldn’t be a bucket list, but definitely for a quick fun round I’d definitely play over and over.
