Bad Ownership
Maricopa county sold this once lovely course to a private party who lives in Southern CA. I have been playing PV Park on an off for about 50 years now. It used to be well kept and a pleasure to play. Greed has taken over. The new owner only cares about the bottom line and unfortunately, this course still turns a profit. Therefore, I was told, he refuses to put a dime into repairs and upkeep. The condition of the course, bathrooms, drinking fountains etc. are a disgrace.
It is my understanding this slime only visits the course quarterly. Apparently only to make sure no health rules are broken.
Sorry to see you go PV Park. I will never play this pit again.
BTY, good luck finding green grass on the fairways.
Wont be playing fthis course for awhile
I was a single yesterday on a busy Memorial day. I paired up with another single at the start of the round..( he only played nine holes as he thought the pace was too slow.)There was a foursome in front. of us who never offered to let us play through ( i think they were playing best ball between teams). I wound up playing the back nine by myself. The course is in really bad shape. Parts of the fairways are dirt. I saw a banana peel on the course. Also saw empty beer cans, candy wrappers. Alot of weeds and loose leafs from trees on the fairways and in the rough. Maybe not worth the money. The was an abnormal amount of range balls in tI eve found range balls on the back nine. NOt close to the driving range.
Great Course
First time playing here and had a great time. Course and greens were in good condition. Staff was super friendly. Will definitely come play here again.
Sad this place has gotten this bad
I have been playing this course for about the last eight years off and on due to it having good value. I don’t believe I will be going back unless they sell the place to somebody who cares enough to run a golf course. This place has so much character And has now just been neglected to the point of it being an eyesore. I believe the county owns this property, and the fact that they have let it get this rundown is in my mind a waste of taxpayer money
fairways and greens
Fairways were fair to good.. Greens were in very good condition.
Pro Shop - Ugh!!
Poor communication skills
If you can get past the poor communication and condescending attitude of the pro shop staff, you can look forward to a great layout, fun to play, neglected executive golf course
Decent Course for the Money
Decent course for a quick round. Keep in mind for the price point, you get what you pay for. I can normally get 18 in with two people in around 3 hours or so.
The course is fun and acceptable for the price point.
I had a blast at this little par 3. At this price point I think its perfectly acceptable and a great little spot.
Neglected :-(
This is one of the most fun executive course in the valley. When priced between $10-$16 its a good value. Unfortunately, you will spend most of your time looking a around in dismay wondering why it is so so so neglected. A Real shame :-(
A Cow Pasture With Good Greens
Tees and greens are the best part of the course, the fairways not so much. Greens are cut and roll well. Tees are mostly grass. Fairways are a combination of grass and weeds and are generally hardpack so the ball rolls a little farther than normal. Back nine seems to be better shape than the front nine. Yardage seems to be correct. I recommend the course as a good place for a practice round or to play with a beginner. Friendly staff and a good eating area. Fore!
Goat Track
Worst cartpaths in the world, fairwAys not much better. Balls get lost easily in high grass and weeds.
Great course to sharpen up and practice.
Nice course for practice and sharpening up your skills. Staff were super friendly. Some patches without grass, but to be expected in Scottsdale during the summer. Greens were all well looked after.
Bad management On
On course bathrooms and drinking fountains in scary conditions. Pi n placements are a joke. Big greens and the stick them on a slope or very close to the edge. Like 5 feet. No fun
Greens
The course is in much better condition than the last time I played it. The greens were a little slow though. It made it hard the get the ball close on chips and long puts.
Nice Little Course
Paradise Valley was a nice surprise. Great place to tune up your short game with all the par 3s. Used all my clubs but my driver and 3 wood. Well worth the money. Staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome. Would recommend to golfers of most skill levels.
