Good potential
The course has good potential. With a little effort at no cost it could be better. We had low expectations because of the price, unfortunately looks like the course is poorly managed. Throughout the course was barrier stakes and rope fallen over and laying everywhere as one of many examples. The least amount of effort must be managements encouraging words. Very disappointed in the lack of effort.
Fading away
I used to play this course frequently 10 years ago.. The course used to be taken care of quite well. This time was sad to see. Lots of hard muddy areas from overwatering in the morning, grass/weeds in sand traps.. sand traps hard as a rock. I would rate the course a 3 out of 10. The only employee we ran into was the front desk. Not a typical front desk guy, more of a minimum wage guy. Also no beverage cart.
Keep driving...
Pretty bad overall experience. Course is in crummy shape and not worth the $35 w/cart.
Corse enforcement
They need a Marshall or ranger to drive around and enforce things like the pace of play and limit 4 to a group. I was part of a foursome and I noticed 2 holes in front of us were a party of
8. Not everyone had their own clubs and there was only one cart as everyone else walked. Also the 1st, 6th , and the 9th had numerous range balls in the fairways. There’s way too many geese.
Horrible greens.
I’ve never seen such horrible greens on a golf course ever. The bunkers were nonexistent. It was just gravel, and there were some bunkers that there was actually grass growing in the middle of them. We got to the six hole and a group of children walked right through the course as if they were at a park and there’s no Marshall there. It’s a one and done for me.
Course Condition
Difficult to say this, it's in worse shape then years ago which is sad to say. Needs Goverment out of Golf.Phoenix did their best to destroy Papago this place is sooooo poorly maintained. I'll bet someone scams the city for a six figure check.
PV Golf
Listen I’ve been playing this course for years, it’s not your premiere Augusta by any stretch, but for the money, you cannot beat golfing here. Great course for practicing iron play with a few driving opportunities. Definitely worth the money to come play.
The park needs maintenance, it is a little neglected. I do plan to return with the hope of seeing it a little better. I live very close by and it would be nice if it was a little better so I could go play once a week.
Terrible conditions
The course was very badly maintained the greens alone were terrible. They were patchy and had random holes, not filled in on them. The fairway was more like a nice rough in the rough was more like mud was very muddy and overwatered. The bathroom on the course was horrendous. I would never expect a woman let alone a man even sit in there and take a poop That has a lot of potential but they definitely should not be offering memberships when it’s that bad condition. The Staff were very friendly that’s about all that course he going for it. I usually don’t review but this had to be one.
Poor course conditions.
This course really needs attention. Water is a precious commodity so use it wisely. Over-watering in many places, dry dust bowl in others. Greens were not good. Not really value for money and definitely gone downhill since I last played here.
Wet
The course was obviously watered all night. Muddy on the approach to the green. Some greens have weedy vegetation instead of grass. Overall good course for the $$$$
