Camelback Golf Club - Ambiente Course

The course was tough, but fair. If you don't hit the ball straight...you are in trouble! Some of the greens have some pretty interesting pin placements! Great day on the course even when it is 107:-)

Great course layout and fun to play. The course is in fantastic shape. The greens run fast and if you hit your ball in the vegetation you have a 50/50 chance of being able to find and play it. All in all a great addition to Phoenix golfing. Will play again here.

Course is in good condition. Fun challenge, but only if you pick the further back tees, unfortunately (the middles and fronts cut more than just distance).

Pace of play was awful and there was no interest in fixing it - staff said "yeah, at this time of year, you get a lot of folks out who don't know golf etiquette". Sure, in fact, all year-round that happens - isn't that what the on-course assistants are there to keep an eye on?

Very nice layout and far better than the previous track. Couple of things I would change, a few to many bunkers, flowers and native grass growing into trhe bunkers and slope causing some unfair bounces. Not an easy course but one where shot making is needed. Need your A game or long day

You will get top notch treatment playing this course. Customer service was excellent. I am a high handicap golfer and had a great round for my skill level because I hit the ball straight. Several bunkers were challenging. Beautiful views and an overall wonderful experience. This course was in great condition for summer.

Ambiente is a very nice course that will have me back there next weekend. Take advantage of the hot summer pricing ($34, Sunday afternoon). The course had a complete makeover from the original Indian Bend "goat track" as noted by one of their staff members. I never played the original but the new and improved is a must play. Very nice layout, challenging and fair at the same time.

well maintained course worth the 30 dollar summer rate.. played shorter than the 7225yd distance on the card however, some really hard holes too...

Way to far from walking distance greens to cart parking area per hole, could definitely improve this for faster pace of play and heat factor in summer

Course was in excellent condition. Much more challenging, beautiful than Padre.

Greens were true. Natural rough almost guarantees a lost ball so hit it straight.

No return to the clubhouse after 9 holes so bring food or buy from cart! Free water on the course is a nice touch and appreciated.

Price in summer in competitive but very expensive in Winter season.

Ambiente was every bit as good as I had heard. I liked the Indian Bend course and was skeptical when I heard about the planned changes but what a beautiful outcome. The course has a wide variety of holes and many of the holes are completely different from the different tees. My only complaint is the same one I have for so many Phoenix-area courses...the length of the par-3's does not match the length of the course. A little variety instead of all mid to long irons would be nice. Small complaint for a great golf experience and, at $30, hard to beat.

Quite enjoyed 1st time on Ambiente. super bargooon !!! on GolfNow.com Hot deals. Course in excellent condition for mid July 103*. Played with my 16 yr old grandson as 2 some. Unfortunately the senior 4 some ahead of us would allow us to play thru with several holes open ahead of them. Watch out for 18 if you're playing the Greens. 18 fairway is 207 yds over the scrub to the fairway. WOW, tough finishing hole. We moved up to Silvers!!!

The old Indian Bend course was a good summertime course because of the trees. Fairly challenging, but with a good deal of shade on those hot Arizona summer days. Not any longer. Over 900 trees were removed and now the new Ambiente course has a links look to it. The re-do also has increased the challenge. Greens are now a big challenge. Approach shots are much more critical. Overall, it still needs to mature. But I do miss the shade on hot days.

The course is becoming much more player friendly. The greens are holding much better although they remain very bumpy.

Just like the title states, the course is really really nice, in excellent shape and pretty challenging. It really is a neat design and an upgrade over the Indian Bend course from a few years back. They did a great job on it.

The rough areas are nearly impossible to find a ball in. If you don't have perfect control I think this isn't the course to play, Padre is better.

I'd play it again, but ... I think Padre is a better course for "lower" skilled players like myself.

Needs a composite tee, totaling 6400+ yards. Holes 1-5 could be Verde, holes 6-9 Camel, 10 Verde, 11 and 12 Camel, 13-16 Verde and 17-18 Camel. 6349 yards. Just another option that would also speed up play.

Yes, the new Ambiente Course is a great improvement over the old Indian Bend Course, but it's really more than that. It stands out in a crowded Scottsdale golf market as a very different course. I had heard criticism that the native areas will gobble up golf balls. And that's true, but honestly if you have a clue where your golf ball is going you can avoid it most of the time since there are wide fairways and plenty of areas to miss. The greens, though firm, were perfect, and for a course that opened last November, it's remarkably mature. As for the look, there are gorgeous wildflowers everywhere, and they change with the seasons. Simply beautiful.

First time back since It was the Indian Bend course. Tough but far. Look forward to more rounds here.

This was my second time playing this course. It is starting to take shape from when it opened last Nov. It was a great bang for the buck. Thanks for the comp golfnow.com

Holes kind of the same, good fairways but greens hard making it difficult to hold the ball

Fairways were a little thin as winter rye was dying and Bermuda had not fully grown in. Greens were good and course layout was challenging but fair. Would play again on another trip here for sure.
