Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club

The recent increase in green fees is not justified at many courses and this is one of them. Unfortunately, you pay a premium for courses in the Scottsdale area and in my opinion this course was no better than a good Muni course.

The staff was friendly with what appeared to be clean facilities. But over priced.

For the money this is a reasonable course. Played very quickly as part of a twosome. Neither snack bar or inside bar was staffed at 1:15 pm to buy a soda at the turn. Waited five minutes then went on. Greens are readable and consistent. Fairway conditions varied.

It’s was the only thing available,and now I know why. It’s highway robbery for what charge for this dump

Have played here many times and 5+ times this year since early February and conditions are getting worse and I was embarrassed today how bad it was compared to 3 weeks ago.

Massive bare spots everywhere, including fairways and they seem to be watering areas of nothing but dirt, but not on several parts of fairways and around greens. Today several holes (4,10,11,15) were low end muni course conditions.

The layout has great potential….just spend some time working on the course instead of of the landscaping between some holes that look great. When you are 5 yards off the green and in nothing but hard pan dirt with huge gulleys it’s not fun.

Only positive item were the greens which were in great shape.

Bring this good course back to previous conditions. $139 was way too much for this.right now.

Easy check-in. Range (on mats) was a bit crowded, 1 basket of balls comes with tee fee. Missing on the range were ball yardage markers or targets.

Tee time in front of us was a Fivesome. Seems that is normal on this course (round took 5 hours and probably was not due to the group in front of us (they actually played fast for a 5some!). Course was forgiving (i.e. fairly open, but water and trees do come into play if you don't hit it straight.) Greens were fast and pin placements were usually on ridges, so that is what made this course a bit tougher than the yardage. we both said we would play it again.

Enjoyed my day, the course is fun and well maintained. Didn’t get the warm feeling when paying, seemed more like a muni attitude. For the money I have had better customer service.

If I had the back to the future delorean I would have booked another golf course as there were too many dirt spots in the fairways, lots of puddles showing an inefficient drainage system, and very questionable pin placements.

Greens and fairways were in very good shape. We played Palm course which has some interesting water hazards. The practice facilities are really great, and the clubhouse is very nice. All the staff are friendly and accommodating. The only thing that I feel needs addressing are the sand traps. There is barely 1.2" of sand in any trap with hardpan below. Sand wedges just bonce off and blade the ball. If you land in the sand, either chip out or toss it out on the grass and chip from there.

Course was in great shape & played with a nice couple who lived nearby.
