McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.

Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.

A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Major Drawback

Too much Goose poop all over the course. Constantly having to watch where you walk and often have to move your ball. Not pleasant.

Very Average

The staff at club drop was not friendly at all, told us to just leave clubs and come back 20 mins before round to get a cart. Didn’t point out where tO get checked in or range balls. Very rude. Course was in very average condition compared to the other courses we played. We stayed at The Scottsdale at McCormick Ranch and that was nice We will not be playing the course on our future trips.

just too slow

The layout is fine, conditions very good, staff excellent, but pace of play ridiculous. A 1:00 pm tee time shouldn't have to worry about not getting done, and we almost always had 3 - 4 groups on every hole. Just not acceptable.

Slow play on a cow pasture.

Don’t bother and don’t waste your money. The pace and miserable conditions don’t merit playing here. Either they can’t afford rangers or they don’t care. I’m convinced it’s the ladder.

Nice course, tough to score

Great course but tough for high handicaps as water is in play on numerous holes. This time of year the dormant rough will help you mis-hit a few shots as well.

The final 5 holes are gorgeous!

We played The Palm course. It was quite nice, and the landscaping was just spectacular. The play was typical for a public course in high season. I think I fixed about 100 divots and ball marks on greens from other players, but otherwise course shape is good. Staff was courteous and congenial, and pace of play was fantastic at exactly 4 hours!

Great day on the links

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. The track was beautiful and we played with a couple of club members who couldn’t have nicer. Overall great afternoon.

Course conditions were average. Too many shots , despite GPS, that were difficult to assess where to aim. Driving range mats were awful.

Slow play and double cost green fees

The pace of play allowed us to get nine holes played before dark. $100 for nine holes. There was no sign of a Ranger and the staff really didn’t give a hoot.

If this was a premium course, rather than a cow pasture I’d give them slack. It clearly is not.

I would not recommend this course to anyone.
