Mountain Shadows Golf Course
About
The executive golf course at Mountain Shadows Golf Club in addition to being an excellent course has the added benefit of having a picturesque location nestled in the foothills of Camelback Mountain, and it also offers views of the equally majestic Mummy Mountains. The oleanders and palm trees sprinkled throughout the course enhance the pleasant atmosphere. The golf course's 18th hole boasts beautiful views of the sunset during the twilight hours but the signature hole is the par-3 12th hole. It plays uphill toward Camelback Mountain and over a pond and brook to a double-tiered green that is well protected by bunkers.

Beautiful setting.
Loved this course. Everyone so nice. Conditions were great. Would play there anytime.
Well groomed Course
I have to say, Ive played this course a few times now and I enjoy it every time. For an executive course it's quite challenging and very well kept - from fairways to greens its a pleasure to play.
Really Great Time
Mtn Shadows exec 18 is in tremendous shape. A great play to play if you're looking to sharpen up your short game, and play 18 holes at a good place. The staff is very friendly. Overall one of the best golf experiences I've had since the summer began. Can't wait to go back and play it again!
beautiful short course
Well kept course, wonderful setting and views.
Pace of play very slow, waiting on every fee box.
nice little executive course
Despite recent overseeding the course was in very nice shape. Well maintained and although fairly short, the small greens and bunkers challenge you to hit it straight. Nice mountain views. The houses are pretty tight to the course though. Very enjoyable.
.
Nice course for beginners. No drink cart, but they do provide coolers and ice for drinks.
Nice
The golf course was beautiful and in great condition. It was quite hot this day and sadly they did not have a cart lady to bring around drinks/snacks. I don't remember there being a cart lady my previous times either. The pace of the course was great..no one riding our tails and the staff was pretty great too! Overall...I really enjoyed this course!!! But would LOVE it more if they had a drink/food cart!
I will play again
Nice track great to practice irons , very friendly staff, pro shop had excellent deals on shirts and shoes. Great for kids , people that dont play a lot and to work on game .
Very Nice Short Course
Mountain Shadows is an excellent short course with beautiful views. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. First time my wife has played in a while and she loved it. You can put your driver away and get lots of practice with your irons. Much better than standing in one place at a driving range. There are no food or beverage carts so keep that in mind. They have a nice grill and you can purchase drinks and snacks at the pro shop. I will definitely go back. Very relaxing.
Beautiful course
Beautiful course and staff was really friendly, wish we could get the drivers out more though. Pretty short course, only 2 par 4's, rest are par 3's. Really well kept course and the views are awesome. If you want work on your irons this is the course for sure.
Great course for practicing your short game.
With mostly par 3's, it is a great place to practice your short game. Sounds easy, but the water keeps you on your toes. The course is always in great shape.
Great value
Good to play to sharpen your iron shots. Played well in tournament the following weekend
Disappointed
We did not know the (18) hole course had only (9) holes available. Range was not open. This time it was disappointing and would have selected a different course if we were advise of the course condition. We would not recommend at this time. We played prior and liked the course otherwise.
Best Executive Course
This delightful course is fun, scenic, and in great shape. Mostly par threes, it can be demanding at times requiring good distance control and a sharp short game. The greens were dynamic, rolled well, and guarded by many well placed bunkers making it a fun challenge for good players. The immaculate fairways and mostly open areas make it a great place for beginners as well. I had no crowds, but played on a weekday. It's rare to find an executive that is in great shape and so much fun to play.
curse beauty
it is always a pleasure to play this beautiful course with magnificent views. the staff is always friendly and helpful. although this is an executive course it isn't eaasy.
Not your typical executive course
Great mix of holes, from short to long. Green complexes and pin positions made this a very challenging round. We enjoyed it so much, we went back the next day and played 36. Can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff, totally awesome.
The only negative I can say, is the tees leave a lot to be desired for levelness. There are considerable humps in all of the tees.
Great Views
First time playing here. It was a fairly challenging exec course, although only 2 par 4's, and one of them was only 210 yds. But the views and course layout were great. It only took our foursome 2 1/2 hours to play 18. Great little gem.
Mountain Shadows - Challenging Foe!
Mountain Shadows will be the site of my son's 1st Tee tournament in July. We decided to play a practice round to get to know the course and quickly discovered Mountain Shadows is a challenging foe!
Initially, my idea of playing an executive course wasn't something I was looking forward to until I heard that PGA Tour pros' play this course each winter and are lucky to break par.
The course was a rigorous test of steady and consistent shot making within a narrow fairway and course layout. We loved the challenge and the course required careful analysis, and thought provoking shot making.
The only disappointing parts of the experience were trying to play/concentrate while maintenance workers were running their loud machinery at every shot. Que comprendo? The play of some golfers were slower than turtles. Was thankful to have talk time with my son while the play was super slow.
Kudos to the group of 3 senior ladies who played ahead of us who were "ready golf girls" who reminded me of my grandmother and were hard to keep up with cause they played so quickly. Loved it! Next time we will try the refreshments, food and 19th hold features.
We will definitely be returning to this gem!
great little course
This was a perfect course to have my 7 yr old daughter play her first full round from tee to green.
I was a little disappointed that they had no food and beverage service on course or in the club house.
Don't anyone about this great course!
Let's keep it for ourselves, fantastic course in a great location.
