Mountain Shadows Golf Course
About
The executive golf course at Mountain Shadows Golf Club in addition to being an excellent course has the added benefit of having a picturesque location nestled in the foothills of Camelback Mountain, and it also offers views of the equally majestic Mummy Mountains. The oleanders and palm trees sprinkled throughout the course enhance the pleasant atmosphere. The golf course's 18th hole boasts beautiful views of the sunset during the twilight hours but the signature hole is the par-3 12th hole. It plays uphill toward Camelback Mountain and over a pond and brook to a double-tiered green that is well protected by bunkers.

Nice for the $$
Great rates
Nice little course
Friendly staff
I would recommend this course to improve your short game
pretty little course
pretty little course but it's all par 3's except for 2 holes. very well taken care of with beautiful views. challenging at times. appeared to have lots of beginner golfers
Executive course
Excellent course to work on your irons and putting the best bang for your buck this time of the year in Phoenix .
excellent warm up course
We just arrived in AZ from the snowy Eastern US and found this course perfect to warm up our golf prior to playing expensive courses. The course had some interesting holes, nice greens and nice view of mountain in the background.
Great little place.
This is not your average Executive course. Beautiful venue, amazing conditions, and difficult holes. We all loved the place. The pace of play was somewhat slow but it was worth it.
Fabulous value
This course is beautiful and in excellent condition. Staff are very friendly and competent. Bloody Mary's are wonderful. There were two of us and we were paired with a single who is a regular (Marge). She is a doll! They should pay her to golf with guests because she made our round so much fun!
Always a fun course
We have played here several times. Course is short but has some challenging holes. Great 18 holes to play when you don't have all day. There is the opportunity for most mid handicappers to use all the clubs in their bag. Challenging pin placements on Tuesdays. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great views of Camelback Mountain.
Be careful
Being primarily a par 3 course I should have been done in under 3 hrs. Due to the amount of beginners ahead the pace was glacial! I guess it's the luck of the draw when you tee off. For me, I won't be coming back till "off season" when the crowds should be less. All in all a pretty course with georgeous views.
Challenging par 3's with Camelback Mtn views!
The most challenging executive golf course in Arizona... short game challenges rival any other course you'll play...
So much play that the greens are getting abused and difficult to maintain at a high level of condition. .
The Clubs staff and food quality are very good and enjoyable before and after your round of golf..
Perfect Location
Reasonable price, great place to take out of towners. Accessible for all skill levels as most holes are par 3, iron-worthy (prepare to work on your chipping and sand game.) Beautiful views and friendly staff, every time we golf it we wonder why we don't do it more often.
Great executive course
This was a fun place to play with another couple on the last day of our vacation. Beautiful scenery !
Good for the Short Game
Mountain Shadows is a petite Par 3 course tucked inside of a resort and residential area. The resort is being torn down and apparently will be rebuilt at sometime, but it has no effect on play at the course.
The course is 17 par 3s and 1 par 4 with small greens and no long shots. Playing the mid-tees, you may never unsheathe a wood if you're not a hacker. Though you have a lot of 80 to 130 yard shots, you can get a lot of work on your short game as hitting the greens isn't easy due to their size.
The course is in nice shape and the staff is friendly. If you're a single, you'll probably get paired up with some people who are just out for fun, so there will be no pressure.
I find it's an excellent place where you can go play 18 in a little over two hours during twilight hours. Add in the beauty of Camelback Mountain, that dominates the view, and a sundown round is a pleasure.
I'll certainly tee it up there again.
Great course
We had fun it was a good day for playing golf good view good greens
Scenic
A nice course with great scenery at the base of Camelback Mountain. A short but challenging exec course. Overall a narrow course, easy to lose balls.
Great executive course
Great course to sharpen your iron play. Beautiful setting and challenging course.
LA at Rush Hour
This is an excellent executive par 3 course in the heart of Paradise Valley. The course conditions were excellent, the views were spectacular, but the pace of play was horrendous. This was a Sunday afternoon with a tee time of 3:20 pm. I ventured out with the thought of working on my iron play, expecting I would have the course nearly to myself. Wrong!! Play was so backed-up that it became more akin to a "walk in the park" chatting with the Canadian couple I was joined with than a round of 9-hole golf. I spent more time hearing about this nice couple's lives and careers and plans while waiting 10 plus minutes at each tee box for the foursomes ahead of us to play on, than anything about my iron game. I was so unfocused and out of rhythm by the time i got to hit at each hole that I never found my stroke the entire round. Oh well, I'll just reserve this course for the dead of summer when its 110 in the shade and no one willing to endure the heat.
Great Day
A friend and I had not golfed for some time and thoroughly enjoying this course. The staff was very friendly, no waiting on the range or putting green and 18 holes in three hours
Golf experience
Cute coarse, mostly short par3s in really nice condition.
Staff were not friendly and very arrogant, apparently
Did not think a $5.00 tip to clean my clubs was enough.......
Great executive course
Great condition on a great little course. Strategic bunkers are the challenging par of this well maintained course
