The Phoenician Golf Club reopened in the fall of 2018 after a massive redesign and renovation by Scottsdale-based architect Phil Smith. The new 18-hole layout replaces the original 27-hole routing. Every hole is new, featuring TifEagle grass greens and tees, fairways and rough that are 419 Bermuda grass. The golf shop has been expanded as well, and the Club Car golf carts have been outfitted with the "Shark Experience" - a new golf technology with a high-definition touch screen and built-in speakers for playing music and watching live sports, news and entertainment, along with GPS yardage.

Worth Checking Out

Decent course in the Scottsdale area, the Canyon nine was nice with number nine being one of the hardest par 5's I have played in a while.

The Desert nine gets a little wacky almost amusement park like on holes 5, 6, 7, 8. I wasn't a fan of the way those holes were laid out.

Impossible course to walk, and the course is not marked well in the fairways particularly.

Overall though definitely a course worth checking out if you have some downtime.

great day

we played this course a few days after the wettest day that Phoenix has experienced, with flooding all over the area. The Canyon course was in excellent shape while the Desert Course still needed some attention but very playable. the course offers views of the city that is fantastic. a very enjoyable day and would recommend highly the course

Greens in Great Shape

You think to course is short from the scorecard. But it plays a lot longer. Great greens and fairway in good shape for the summer. Wonderful views. Friendly cart girl.

Respectable for Mid-summer

Tee to green in Very good shape. Rough had a few bare areas. Greens had a few bare spots, especially on holes in mountain areas. Greens a bit bumpy but very playable. Great scenery and views on mountain holes.

Nice course

Nice course beautiful resort. Beers are way over priced but overall good experience. Friendly staff pretty solid pace of play and convenient location. Desert and canyon are my person favorites but oasis is a nice 9 holes as well. Course is always in excellent condition, greens were rolling perfectly, free range balls which should be expected at courses of this caliber but sometimes aren't included. Cart girls are always friendly and did mention a beer special which saved us quite a bit compared to their normal pricing. A must play if trying to stay in Scottsdale or Phoenix and want to be close to attractions and bars/restaurants.

Good value

It's a resort course that plays pretty soft but it's good also. A yardage book would be an advantage as some of the desert 9 is unsighted from the tees

course was phenomenal!

Course conditions were great for this time of year. No burnt spots to be found anywhere. Greens rolled true and smooth. Any grumble was pace of play. Had a group or two in front of us that were playing rather slow, which wasnt very fun sitting and waiting in the heat for 5 min at every hole before we could tee off.

Fun Course

Fun course to play. More challenging than the yardage may lead you to believe. Great mix of elevated tees on a couple of the par 3's, challenging uphill par 4's and water holes. Good course to try if you haven't played it.

Lots of fun but short on hydration

The Phoenician was a mildly challenging layout with a great variety of hole designs. Pace was fine and the course not very crowded. Would definitely like to play it again. One complaint is the water situation. Courses in Phoenix in Summer need to provide lots of access to cold drinking water. Next time, I'll bring lots of empty bottles so I can fill up at the few spots they have to get water out on the course.

Best Scenic View of Phoenix

Had a great time playing the Phoenician. Course was in fabulous shape for late July. Last 3 holes of the Canyon course have lots of water challenges. Will definitely play again.

Great Views/Average Condition:

Beautiful views of the Valley. Green speeds were inconsistent and in poor shape. There was a monsoon the night before. Perhaps this is reason why.
Friendly staff. Would golf again. Would not pay peek season price.

Beautiful resort at a low price.

I love the summers in Scottsdale. We get to play all the high priced tracks for not much more than a cart fee. The course was in great shape. I love the water fountains and all the interesting views of Camelback.
It plays short from the back tees and being a par 70 is great. You have 9 shots to play with to shoot in the 70's.

Course was in very good condition

Got a great deal on my round, and will definitely be back. The course was in very good condition, considering the time of year. I think the greens may have been punched in June, but they rolled very true and pretty fast.
