Legend Trail Golf Club
About
When the architect Rees Jones created the golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club, he created a golf course that brings out the Old West-style air of Scottsdale and a fun and testing golf course with greens made of bent grass. It's a premium golf course smack dab in the Sonora Desert.
The golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club features broad fairways, diminutive bunkering and tees placed on islands, and has been called one of the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. The magazine also gives Legend Trail 4.5 stars out of five among its
Best Places to Play, and has one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways, according to Golf For Women magazine. Panoramas include local sites like Pinnacle Peak, and a round at Legend Trail Golf Club gives all levels of golfer several different shot-making options.
Golf a late-afternoon round on Friday or Saturday, and head back to the Trail's End Grill from 4 to 6 p.m. for specials on drinks and appetizers.

Another Great Hole Photo submitted by mhinkle on 09/23/2012
Great sunset view
Legend Trail is by far the best course for the value in the Valley this summer. Real greens, real fairways, fast pace and fantastic sunset views for a great price. With Starfire and Silverado both dried out messes this summer, drive a bit farther North to Legend Trail for a real golf course.
Great practice areas
and great course. Restaurant closed early and no beverage cart. Proshop staff were friendly but not impressed by the pro.
Great Morning of Golf
As usual, legend trail in great shape, They seem to be one of the courses to keep it nice year round. Very little down time for reseeding and punching.
Not Bad!
Typical desert course. Unforgiving, but full of awesome desert creatures and landscapes. My friend went was excited to see jackfruit?
Long, challenging and not a very large margin for error. Try it!
No excuse for this type of Slow Play
Hot weather, yes, but 4 and 5 groups on one hole because some clowns are drunk and trying to play golf - no excuse for that to happen. Course is in good condition for late summer. Staff is not too happy to be there on hot days, but you have to take the bad with the good. This course is too far out of town to drive out there and get into a death march in the late summer. Not worth the drive so won't be going out there again.
I would be a member.
I come to Scottsdale every August for a week and play Legend Trail as much as I can. Great layout and course condition. If I lived here full time I would be a member!
Best public course in Scottsdale, AZ
Great design, good challenge, excellent conditions. Excellent value!
Good course condition for summer
Greens held and rolled true. They were a tad slow, but in the summer in Phoenix we understand they have to protect them. Collars, fairways and tee boxes were all in very good shape. A couple bunkers were hard pan,but they were well groomed. All around good shape and for the price we paid it was a great deal.
Beautiful desert course
This course is close to me and I play it often. I have reviewed it before, so I will be brief. It’s a beautiful desert course featuring forced carries and target golf. They have an extensive warm up area with putting, chipping and a driving range. The course is in great condition. The greens were punched a few weeks ago and have recovered nicely. Play it.
