About
When the architect Rees Jones created the golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club, he created a golf course that brings out the Old West-style air of Scottsdale and a fun and testing golf course with greens made of bent grass. It's a premium golf course smack dab in the Sonora Desert.
The golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club features broad fairways, diminutive bunkering and tees placed on islands, and has been called one of the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. The magazine also gives Legend Trail 4.5 stars out of five among its
Best Places to Play, and has one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways, according to Golf For Women magazine. Panoramas include local sites like Pinnacle Peak, and a round at Legend Trail Golf Club gives all levels of golfer several different shot-making options.
Golf a late-afternoon round on Friday or Saturday, and head back to the Trail's End Grill from 4 to 6 p.m. for specials on drinks and appetizers.

Great conditions
I’ve played and reviewed Legend Trail before, so i’ll Keep this brief. Legend Trail is a beautiful course with many challenges. There are multiple tee boxes and combos, you can find the one that is right for you. It’s just coming off overseen, the conditions are great. There are a few wet sand bunkers, that seems to happen on all courses from the additional watering. It’s currently cart path only, place your shots carefully or walk a lot.

Good test of golf. FYI, most holes require a big carry off the tees.
Last minute decision paid off
Late booking at a great rate...joined a really friendly group...staff seems to remember everyone's name...although recently over seeded the course was pleasant to play.
Great Overall Experience
With a lot of courses in over seed I made it out to Legend Trail who had seeded about 3 weeks ago. It was cart path only as a result but pace of play was still very good at about 4 hours flat with a full tee sheet. Course is in great shape. Layout is fun, scenic, and challenging. Not the longest course but narrow fairways and well placed obstacles keep it interesting. Will be back again.
Beautiful Rees Jones Design
High Sonoran dessert. Course had recently seeded rye for winter. Like first snow, very pristine, green fairways and nice rolling greens. A little slower than probably normal due to new grass. The ranger was the best. He notice a small slowing and made corrections to keep groups moving.. Several tee locations to choose from.. cart path only.
Would have loved an over seeding warning
Always love playing this course, but we got to the course and everything was dead. Would have loved to have been notified that overseeding was taking place the next day. Course layout is great but a discount rate or a course alert was should been applied today.

Great Course!
The course was in great shape. There's a premium placed on your tee shots. Most holes have a healthy carry over desert to the fairway. No "trick" holes. A fair test of golf that made for a great round!

Great experience
From walking in the door I was treated as if I were a member of the course. Fantastic staff inside and outside the pro shop. The course was in excellent condition. Good layout. Generous fairways and good views of the area on several holes. Large greens and several are multi level greens. The greens rolled very true. If this course weren’t eighty miles from where I live I would be a regular. Thank you for the experience.
Great sunset view
Legend Trail is by far the best course for the value in the Valley this summer. Real greens, real fairways, fast pace and fantastic sunset views for a great price. With Starfire and Silverado both dried out messes this summer, drive a bit farther North to Legend Trail for a real golf course.
Great practice areas
and great course. Restaurant closed early and no beverage cart. Proshop staff were friendly but not impressed by the pro.
Great Morning of Golf
As usual, legend trail in great shape, They seem to be one of the courses to keep it nice year round. Very little down time for reseeding and punching.
