Editor's Note: Course closed in 2018. See The Phoenician Golf Club listing.

The Desert/Oasis Course was the Phoenician's first 18 holes, which were later joined by the Canyon nine. The aptly named course may have desert surroundings but its numerous palm trees and blooming flowers will make golfers feel as though they've been transported to a tropical destination. Although all three golf courses cover only 150 acres, none of them feel cramped. Any lack of length is quickly forgotten after playing the creative challenges of the layout. The golf course offers plenty of variety that make it appealing to low and high handicappers alike. Dramatic elevation changes characterize the Desert nine, providing the breathtaking views that have led it to be the most requested course. The Oasis nine is memorable as well with water coming into play on six holes and a unique moat of sand on the par-4 finishing hole.

wonderful course

The course layout was very nice. With each nine having a different feel. Course conditions were very good in the greens were a bit slow but wonderful. My only complaint would be that there was a foursome in front of us on the front line that was playing possible and it took two hours and 45 minutes. With two holes open in front of them I wish there was a Marschall on the course.

Super fun resort course with amazing views on back 9

This course is definitely worth stopping by and playing if you're in the area. Incredible views on the back 9. Greens rolled to a typical resort course at about 9-10 stump, but were in great shape. Definitely highly recommended! We even had a couple Phoenix Suns players right behind us.

Very nice course

The course was laid out very well. Each of the nines has a different feel. I would have liked to see a marshal out as the 4 some in front of us was incredibly slow. Overall would definitely play the course again.

The course is not really all hyped up to be. I’ve been to better courses for less money.

Great course to play while in Phoenix

Great course. Staff very friendly. Nice practice range with stocked balls next to each tee box. Was challenging without being overly difficult. Paired with a couple good local guys. Only downside was it was 105 during the round. Great course would highly recommend

Best course in Phoenix

The Phoenician is definitely one of the very courses in ohx. I was able to get on and off quickly. Staff was great. Covered parking. The only thing I can complain about is the greens were a little slower due to summer greens. But everything was immaculate. And I got on for cheaper than a few other garbage courses I played this week. I will definitely come back and in prime season too. The hotel amenities looked so nice I will bring the wife with me next time so she can enjoy the spa.

Great course

Course in good sha0e considering the dry and hot season.

You will see the aeration marks on the greens from the most recent session that can affect your putting.

Nice course with the back 9 is a different theme than the front 9 due to it mountain side layout.

Course management is needed for this course. Very challenging and worth playing.

Resort quality shines

There’s something about playing at an A+ quality course & resort. From the driving range, to the practice green, you feel like you could to raise your game. The course was a bit damp but if that was my only complaint, slap me. The pace of play equaled three hours as I was a solo golfer. Even the geese were polite and respectful.

Location, Location, Location

The Phoenician is in a really beautiful area. The staff was great and the course was in wonderful condition. It is a short, resort style course. Our foursome had a blast. I would highly recommend this course. The back 9 is awesome, runs right along Camelback Mountain. I hope to go back someday.

Great resort course

Not super long, but great resort course with challenging holes. Greens and most fairways were in great shape for July. There were 2 holes with cart path only due to repairs, but overall very good!
