Talking Stick Golf Club - Piipaash Course
About
The Talking Stick Golf Club, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, offers two uniquely different courses that each offer many options according to your playing skill. The Piipaash course (previously known as South at Talking Stick Golf Club), with its tree-lined fairways and raised greens defended at the sides offers a more straightforward style of play than the O'odham Course (formerly known as North at Talking Stick Golf Club).
A round of golf on the Piipaash Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club kicks off on a par-4 hole that measures 405 yards from the Black tees. Three long par-5 holes ensures that power golfers will get their kicks, with the fifth hole coming in at 516 yards, the 1fourth measuring 541 and the 16th playing to 548. The round of golf concludes on a relatively shorter par 4 that measures 323 yards.
After a round of golf on the North Course at the Talking Stick Golf Club, head back to the Wildhorse Grille for drinks and a bite to eat.

Great course
This was my first time on this course. I had played Odham a few times and really enjoyed this round more. It was fair, non-gimmicky, and appealing to the eye.
Fun track.
I was in a twosome, tail end of a bunch of groups. Was hoping for faster pace because it was so muggy. 3 hours 41 minutes is not bad, but in a twosome it is on the slow side. Conditions of course were excellent though!
Great deal
I was really impressed with the price, layout and condition of the course. I rented clubs and they were good. Great range to warm up. The staff were super nice helpful and friendly.
I’d love to come back and try the other course.
Summer Aeration of Piipaash Course
It is a fact of summer golf in central Arizona that aeration of courses is necessary. Such maintenance does initially detract from a positive experience, as was the case today. All greens had been aerated and sanded in the past several weeks, making it nearly impossible to putt accurately. Fairways were, for the most part, in good shape. Some edges in front of some greens were browned out and needed attention. Sand traps were varied; some with sufficient sand depth and others lacking. A few of the tee boxes needed TLC and leveling. Pace of play was very good, as was value. It was unfortunate that the practice green was being torn up when I arrived, nullifying any intended practice time (which would not have mattered given the state of the greens with aeration and sanding). Give it several more weeks and this course will be good to play again.
Greens are terrible, fairways nice
Played for the first time and was surprised the fairways were in really good shape. However, the bunkers were rock hard and the greens had dirt patches around it and the green itself were bumpy.
Enjoyorgohome
Many dead spots around greens.
Greens quite poor.
Nice day of golf
Everything was excellent. The food and drink was a little pricey (IE $10 small hot dog), but overall it was a good value for the day.
The fairways are in great condition. Especially for summer
Fairways and tee boxes were great. Most of the greens rolled true, some bumps but for summer golf in the valley very good
Good course, decent condition.
All was good, for some reason my experiences here are not as nice as other similar courses.
EagleJT65
Great practice area, staff was awesome, cart was available often during the round. Very fair course, but only in the fairway.
Course good, SLOW play
No course Marshall on a Friday? Starter seemed annoyed at anyone except his friend he was talking to. We asked the drink cart girl to alert the Marshall about pace of play and she just laughed and drove away. This is a nice facility, but staff needs a courtesy lesson (except for the bag drop guy - at least he was nice). The local twosome we were paired with gave up after front 9, and it got even slower on the back. Plenty of other choices in Scottsdale, and I won’t return to TS.
Good course
Wife and I were paired with a couple of other fun folks. The course is is open, fun, not full of gimmicky holes; fair challenge.
Senior Lambs Review
I enjoyed playing this course !better than the other talking stick course.. it was more challenging and seem to have a better lay out. Sand traps well groomed. Many I’d the courses I play do not keep the sand traps in very good shape.
I was impressed with how green and in shape the course was in the heat of mid-June’. Great value- money wise.
Friendly staff and ready to assist at all times.
Cart ladies were available throughout the round. . That’s a big plus with the heat of 105 degrees.
Thanks and I’d play the course again.
One comment - obtain GPS systems when you purchase new carts or upgrade the current ones.
Most courses I play at resorts around the country have them. It really helps if you have not played the course before. ...
