Great Eagle Golf Club
About
Great Eagle Golf Club, rated one of the most affordable golf courses in Arizona, is a championship course in the West Valley. Although it has a traditional design there are several unique and challenging elements that come into play such as undulating mounds that cause uneven lies and well-guarded greens. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course offers three sets of tee boxes so that there is some flexibility regarding levels of challenge, but overall the course is suitable for any player. The Great Eagle Golf Club, in addition to the course, also offers both a chipping green and a putting green.

Great Eagle Golf club
Course is in better shape this year but greens are still in need of some help. Overall the fairways and tee boxes are fine. Greens have sandy spots where grass hasn't taken as of yet. I expect they will be changing over to summer grasses soon so expect hat in the weeks to come
Poor conditions and high price
The sand traps were like cement and the grass is overgrown. Greens are in poor condition. Too many grass bunkers. The only redeeming value is that the staff is very nice.
All Good!
My foursome had a good day at Great Eagle. The fairways and tee boxes are in really good condition, but the greens need work. Overall good play and has a couple challenging holes. Biggest issue is the cart paths...super rough and in major disrepair.
Pretty Bad
The place is in bad condition. One would think the conditions would reflect a lower rate but not at this place. At $79 a round heading into the off season, spend your money elsewhere.
They ask you to drive on the fairways only. To protect the "rough". The rough is nothing but
dried up weeds! Lots of dry, brown spots in the fairways too. Greens are mediocre at best.
Golfed here before but never again.
Fun and decent but overpriced
This course is pretty nice and decently well maintained. Unfortunately sits in a mobile home park, that is honestly not as bad as it sounds, there are some pretty nice homes out there, but some are right up on the course. Not a whole lot of space. Course conditions were way nicer than I expected, fairways were pretty green, roughs were pretty rough, greens were not kind of tricky but well kept and overall not too bad... $75 for a round was just way overpriced in my opinion. I would go back if they dropped the price under $60. If you are thinking about playing here to save money, go somewhere else like the 500 club and pay just a little bit more for a much nicer course and overall golf experience. This place is great if you need a last minute tee time though!
great eagle
the course is beginning to show signs of neglect for the upcoming summer months . A real lack of water. greens are still good.
Keep it in the fairway
The rough was really rough. More like hard dirt. Suprisingly, the last four holes were in much better shape.I would not come back.
Interesting course layout
This beautiful course was the only one we played this year. Good value, friendly staff and great pace of play!
Aweful course, not worth more than 30 dollars for a round
I thought that after two years that maybe the course would look better. I gave them another chance and it honestly was horrible. Tee boxes were horrible, cart paths might as well not been there , fairways were garbage, rough was literally dirt. This course needs tons of work. Wont play here unless it’s $20
Unfortunate for the Price
First time playing Great Eagle and I wanted to try it out since I normally do AZ Traditions when I’m in the area. Unfortunately this is one of the first times I’ve been completely disappointed with the course quality for the price. I get it if the course isn’t in great condition, I’d be happy playing it, but it has to be priced accordingly. I played the ‘Twilight’ Rate at $45 and that’s robbery considering what else you can get for $45 all things considered. AZ Traditions (Great eagle sister course) and every single sun city course are in far better condition and are the same price or less, comparatively throughout the day. It seems like holes 1 and 18 were in great condition but otherwise it was rough, several parts even in fairways were borderline unplayable and the greens were dead and spongey on just about every hole. I’m shocked if AZ Traditions is under the same management because it seems like all $ goes to upkeep of that course and then this one is just whatever’s left over. Staff in the pro shop, outside service and the ranger were super friendly and pace of play was great, but other than that there weren’t a whole lot of positives. Unfortunate but I won’t be playing this one again.
Great Eagle is looking good right now!
I was very impressed with how healthy the fairways looked and the greens were in great shape as well. The staff has always been nice there. Bang for your buck for $30 bucks, can’t beat it!
