North Golf Course at Granite Falls Golf Club
About
The North Course is one of two courses at Granite Falls Golf Club, the other naturally being the South Course. The North Course was built on a rolling, hilly terrain with stately trees and abundant shrubbery. Although the fairways are quite generous, they are undulating and surrounded by sand traps. There is also extensive mounding and bunkering, both grass and sand, to provide more challenge. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Many holes have beautiful mountain backdrops, creating a scenic environment for the game. The course has four sets of tees, making it accessible to all skill levels. Granite Falls Golf Club, in addition to the two golf courses, also features a grass driving range with target areas, two putting greens, and a short game area with a practice bunker.

Hot day
The course is in good shape for summer. The fairways were in good condition. They seemed a bit soft and the ball would not roll out much. The aprons around the green would stop the ball dead and leave a deep muddy ball mark. The putting surface was a bit firm. Seems the ball would roll to the sides or back. Putting was interesting. You had to hit the ball firmly as the ball would turn right as it got to the hole. Might be people stepping next to the hole or it was mounded when they made the hole. Biggest issue for me was the Boomers in front of me. Saw them in the pro shop bragging about how the group ahead of them was only 30 minutes ahead and that they would catch them because they played so fast. I was 45 minutes behind them and caught them on the 4th hole. They wouldn't let me through until the 14th hole when they stopped at the restroom. Even though no one was ahead of them and they looked at me at every hole, they would not allow me to play through. This is not the courses fault. just an observation of some of the people here.
Still Great
Haven’t played here in 5 years since they got too proud after Covid but glad they came down. Course was in good condition and like others have said greens were hard and fast but, I like fast greens so I all is good. Snack bar closes at 2pm and no cart person but all was good.
I was the only one on the north course at this time so pace of play wasn’t an issue. I got done just under three hours. If I had one complaint, it would be the greens themselves. Just way too fast if you hit the green on your approach, it would roll off, but the grass wasn’t short enough to In front of the green to roll up. But nevertheless, it was a nice course. It’s only a few minutes from my house and this time of the year for $40 and some change I’ll be back.
Very hard greens
The course was in good shape. The only problem I had was the greens very very hard. You couldn’t leave a ball mark. Also you can’t stop the ball on the greens. Was landing the ball 20 to 25 feet short of the pin and it would release at least 45 feet.
April Saturday in Sun City Grande
Course was in good condition Greens were a bit slow but in great condition. Very few people on the course. Fairways were wide and greens were challenging. Only drinking water on the course as there were so few people. Overall a very nice experience and would recommend the course for play in the Arizona off “summer” season.
Fairways very thin with burned out areas, igreens did not hold well, if you missed the green, the apron areas were the same.. this review if for the North course, can’t see the South being muck better..
Misleading
Granite Falls has two courses. Both are priced the same on Golfnow @ $130. When we checked in for our round, the proshop told us that they did not oversee the North course this year and the course conditions were "poor" and wanted to know if we still wanted to golf there (but no openings were available on the south course). Sunday morning in Phoenix, no other option to go to another course, so we played the course.
My heartburn is that they still charge the full price and do not disclose the course condition on Golfnow....so we really had no other option once you get to the course.
Just overall poor communication and pricing. I've play both courses several times and there have been no differences in course conditions between the two course until this year.
They just need to disclose the conditions and price the two course differently until the North is up to their standards.
I feel like they mislead the public.
Played here for 20 years
One of my favorite tracks of the 4 del Webb courses in sun city grand… absolute horrid conditions this season, they should be ashamed & emberrassed the quality of the fairways and greens. Should be 1/2 off the other courses in the community.
greens under repair
Made a tee time on golf now, and when I got to the course , I was told the greens are under repair. I couldn't cancel the tee time since it was under 24 hrs. I called golf now and had to wait over 2hrs for a call back.
I told them they should disclose that information on the web site . So I wasted 35min drive to get there and be disappointed. The course was very nice and gave me a free large bucket of balls for the range.. Golf now said they would credit me back , so the wait begins.
always in great condition
I like to play courses that always maintain perfectly. The few times I played, they were great each time.
