Good Deal
for the money. Good walking course.
Ol corica
North course is fun. Good for noobies too. The course is in decent shape some of the greens could be better. I like this place for a quick evening round
Golf buddy
I like playing at this course people are freandly .i also got my golf lesson at this place with woody highly recommend
Nice, medium length course
I used mostly 3 Woods off the tee at Earl Fry, as accuracy is far more important than distancr on this course.
The greens were slower than in the past, might be time for a trim & roll.
Lots of fun
I played this course for the first time as a single. Joined a great threesome on the third hole. Great having local help negotiate a new track. Good variety of holes, some pretty challenging. Greens were pretty darn good.
I drive an extra 10 miles and pay for toll over other more expensive courses
This course is easy. Always shoot my best rounds here (when I'm sober). Greens roll true and there's just enough of a layout to make you think sometimes. Pace of play can be slow (5+ hours) in the middle of the weekend but it's expected. Can't wait until they have Jack Clark rebuilt.
Driving range is nice, balls are not beat up. Par-3 course is nice and new.
They have the new GolfBoards too.
nice course & nice price
Played this course for the first time with a friend and had a great time. Very uncrowded conditions, started play at 5pm and finished at 8pm (twosome). Nice flow to the course and nice medium level of difficulty. Greens and fairways in good shape. At $18 we will definitely play again.
CHUCK CORICA GREAT DAY OF GOLF
Great course to learn how to play the game of golf! Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Course is fair, not too tough, but enough trouble (hazards) that will make you pay!! Challenging for a starter but fun and rewarding! A BAD DAY ON THE COURSE IS BETTER THAN ANY DAY AT WORK!!!! Shot my best round ever, 88!!!
Nice layout but a bit old
Fairway renovation recommended
Course improving
I play Chuck Corica golf course frequently since I live 5 minutes away. The Earl Frey North course is the only one open now, since the South Course is being redone. The condition of the course is much improved recently after the rains in March. Both fairways and greens are in good shape. During the week it takes my group 4 to 4 and one half hours to play. Weekends take at least 5 hours. The course is flat and relatively forgiving and can be walked with little difficulty.
Good golf course, great value
The golf course recently offered the Golfboard for rent ($10 per round). To rent it, you have to register at their website and watch a short instructional video. It's a fun way to get around on the golf course.
Mid-Week Slow Play
Tee time 11:21 a.m. Had to wait on every hole, 5 minutes each time. Quit after 16 holes, 5 hours during the week is unacceptable. The problem was downstream from the group in front of us. Marshall's not doing their job to try and make sure things flowed along. Won't be going back here anytime soon.
Poor scheduling tee times
The North course at alameda is the only 18 hole course open currently until the south course reopens so way too many people scheduled on the one course. Also tournaments disrupt tee times as very seldom on time.
The course is in ok shape after being in terrible shape due to neglect.
I would not suggest playing here if you care about pace of play.
Course conditions are horrendous due to drought
You can kill yourself driving a golf cart around the course. Never seen so many "moguls", mounds, bumps, etc. along the course. There was at least one temporary green that was not puttable. Many greens looked like quilts. Don't go there until courses have completed ther renovation. In the meantime they are charging full rates.
Very fun course - just needs some work
I enjoy playing golf at Chuck Corica, it's a good facility with a nice staff. The course layout for Earl Frye is a lot of fun with reachable par 5's, challenging par 3's and some fun looking holes along the way.
The course isn't in the best condition but that's expected in California with the drought. Pace of play wasn't bad at 4:45 for a municipal course on a busy Saturday.
I'll be going back to play due to the fun and the good value at Chuck Corica.
Course dying
I played this course as a Jr. in 1980's and was a great course to play. Today when I played it, it appeared to be dying. There were at least 4 greens that had bad brown spots were half the green could not be used. The other greens were in fair condition. Also we noticed at least 20-30 dying or dead redwood trees. The also seem to be a lot of ground under repair spots, most of them were marked off, but just seemed to be too many at any single time.
used to have very nice greens
Terrible conditions, greens were just awful, won't play again ,gonna wait till jack clark opens
Senior Golf
Great place for Seniors, easy to walk & reasonable rates
Horrible greens
Really nice practice facility. Greens are the worst I have played in the Bay area..unfortunate.
Fairway's condition is good but the greens have uneven patches
It was dusty during we played on the Earl Fry course. Watering the job site is needed under the construction. Should Chuck Corica Golf give some incentive to the golf player for the inconvenience during their course renovation
