Corica North - highly recommend

They did a great job overhauling this course. Albeit only 9 holes, the vision and execution is very well done. Pure, quick greens, fast, firm fairways, outstanding bunkers….great test of golf! Can’t wait for the second 9 to be completed.

Spectacular Day

70 degree Thursday round that we finished in 4 hours and 1 minute. Course was pretty empty, so there was no waiting on any tee. Tee boxes were a little hard, but they're saving water. Fairways and greens were excellent. Not straight putts. Stayed away from the ridicules bunkers, but they were fun to look at.

Very enjoyable. Wind was even down.

Pricey

Greens are very fast and undulating.

Layout is very good.

Practice putting green was very slow.

Price for non residents was quite high for weekday walking rate.

Will be back. But only once in a while.

1 hour commute for me.

There are many other good courses available that don't include a commute.

Fairways boring and like hitting off concrete

Played the North course the end of February following days of rain. The fairway grass was either cut less than a half inch long or because of the condition of the soil, could not grow any longer. It was like hitting off concrete. Flat terrain and the majority of holes just straight shots to the green. No landscaping bordering fairways. They were devoid of trees and any bushes, plants or other greens.

Just okay…

This course (North course) was overpriced for what is it. The fairways seemed dry, maybe it’s just the grass color?? Not sure,, but they were a very pale green color, tee boxes were okay, and greens were pretty good. If you like links style golf courses with undulating fairways and greens and pot bunkers then this is for you! I like to see clearly where the fairways ends on each side, which you cannot here, so not my preference. A lot of the water on this course was a murky brown color, which did NOT help the aesthetic of the course. I believe it does have potential and it recently opened up in 2025 so maybe it just needs a little more time..

Course drains well.

I played the morning after a raining night into the morning and the course was well drained, you can actually see drain receptacles on the fairways. Pace of play was a bit on the slow side, 18 holes just under 4 hours for a single.

Used cart

A great complement to the South Course

The new North pivots in a completely different direction architecturally than the Australian Sandbelt-themed South Course at Corica Park. It plays linksy, with firm turf thanks to 6 to 12 inches of sandcapping for proper drainage. Athletic turf from the Oakland Raiders' former practice facility was used for the stacked faces of the revetted sod wall bunkers. The cart paths are lined with 125 tons of recycled walnut shells. I actually hit a few solid shots off of them without an issue. I first played the front nine, originally designed by architect Marc Logan, in 2022. The wild green contours took a toll on my scorecard. After a legal tussle and a reset, Robert Trent Jones II completed the back nine. His team made a few minor changes on the front, including lengthening the drivable 8th hole beyond 258 yards to 283 yards from the tips. Avoiding water is the top priority on the back nine. Water running up the left side of the 295-yard 15th can derail what should be a birdie hole. My foursome hit multiple clubs - driver, hybrid, fairway wood - and none of us came away with par. That's the sign of a tricky, risk-reward hole.

Fun links style course

Great upgrade and a fun layout. Wind and the greens are it's greatest defense. Good condition and the ball can run a long way

First Look at North Course

I've been wanting to play the newly opened North course, since the opened the back nine. I found the course challenging, especially the greens on the front which has been opened for several years. The new back nine offered some challenging holes and the greens were less severe with regard to undulations. However, it seems like the greens need to mature some more to play like the smooth surfaces of the older front nine. Look forward to coming back after using the round as a learning experience.

Pace of play

Marshal did nothing to pick up the pace. Younger golfer have no golf edicate playing from the tips and waiting for greens to clear before hitting a hundred yards . Not worth $120 to play. Will not be returning. I golf 2 to 4 times a week not justified to play here.
