Corica North - highly recommend
They did a great job overhauling this course. Albeit only 9 holes, the vision and execution is very well done. Pure, quick greens, fast, firm fairways, outstanding bunkers….great test of golf! Can’t wait for the second 9 to be completed.
Fun links style course
Great upgrade and a fun layout. Wind and the greens are it's greatest defense. Good condition and the ball can run a long way
Great greens
Course is beautiful, challenging greens with lots of undlations. The only problems r super windy in the afternoon and some really short par 4s. Overall fun challenging Course but a little pricy
great new course
This course is amazing. itbis short but the wicked greens demand accurate placement of your approach shots. the undulating surfaces were fast but rolled true. will definitely play again soon
First Look at North Course
I've been wanting to play the newly opened North course, since the opened the back nine. I found the course challenging, especially the greens on the front which has been opened for several years. The new back nine offered some challenging holes and the greens were less severe with regard to undulations. However, it seems like the greens need to mature some more to play like the smooth surfaces of the older front nine. Look forward to coming back after using the round as a learning experience.
Pace of play
Marshal did nothing to pick up the pace. Younger golfer have no golf edicate playing from the tips and waiting for greens to clear before hitting a hundred yards . Not worth $120 to play. Will not be returning. I golf 2 to 4 times a week not justified to play here.
Fun and challenging
Finally got to play North! Loved the layout. And the greens rolled well, despite the undulations! Very good experience!
Nice, overpriced course.
Cheaper if paid and booked by the course. Pace of play is slow recommend walking the course. If you ride its free massage.
Nice & challenging new course
My first time playing the new North Course at Corica Park. Always enjoy playing the South Course, so nice to have another option there. Conditions were very windy so that made the course challenging . . in addition to not knowing all the landing spots. Greens had lots of undulation and were very quick, especially on the front 9. Water in play a lot on the back, so be sure to check the layout before teeing off. Nice to have a couple drivable par 4s as well. We walked and pace of play was great with a 4:20 round. Will definitely be back and hopefully in less windy conditions.
Interesting layout
Played Corica North course for the first time. Interesting layout with some tough holes
I wish they would have kept the original layout !!!!
Slow play due to new design. First time playing here and was really hoping that it was going to be better than the original course it was NOT. I know golf is getting expensive but charging $100+ to play this course is ridiculous. Ok my thoughts on the course itself. The fairways have to many uneven lies on most of the hole that affect tee shots to severely with bad bounces etc. The new layout feels like they forced some of the holes in… No flow to round. I do appreciate that they are putting the effort / money into these golf courses to try and make them better. I will say I think the bunkers were done nicely but I wish they would have either left the old layout or took more time on how to make it all work better. My two cents….
Challenging Course
Corica Park North Course is very different from the South. It has a lot more topography and sometimes deep ridged sand bunkers. The greens are very fast and countered meaning it's difficult to line up putts. I enjoyed the layout and look forward to my next round now that I am somewhat familiar with the course.
I played the North Course yesterday with some friends, one of which is a resident of Alameda. I haven’t played Corica for a couple years, used to play there on a regular basis. It has gotten too expensive compared to other local courses in the area, which in my opinion are just as challenging and nice. For a non-resident walking, the South Course cost $70 and the North Course $80. I asked if this included a senior discount and the attendant replied, “The senior discount only applies to residents of Alameda.” I have golfed many courses over the years and have never been denied a senior discount. Playing the North Course for the first time since it reopened was fun and greens challenging, but I probably won’t return due to the cost. The restaurant (Jim’s) was very good, we enjoyed our lunch and the day.
Excellent golf course!
I love Corica North Course even though it is a little bit expensive.
Excellent Staff
Got there for 2 foursomes. To our surprise no carts on Monday and Tuesday. This did not work for us as we are all in our 70's. Unfortunately it wasn't on the web site. After a 35 minute drive not a happy group. The staff was very friendly and let us use carts on cart path only. I would recommend this course to everyone. The greens are outstanding. Great restaurant. And again excellent customer service. 5 stars !
Challenging
It was great to finally play the north course. Very difficult with the wind, tight fairways, and fast greens.
