About
Perched in the hills above Santa Cruz, DeLaveaga Golf Course & Lodge features plenty of elevation changes as well as tight, tree-lined fairways making this short layout anything but a cinch. The result of the tight layout, however, often translates into long rounds as higher handicappers look for their golf balls in the woods. Designed by Bert Stamps, the golf course opened in 1970. Conditioning is average, but DeLaveaga Golf Course & Lodge's green fees are a small fraction of its more famous neighbors.

Fun and challenging
My girlfriend and I played here for the first time, and loved it. We found that it is a relatively challenging course that requires a good amount of precision. The only criticism I would have is the pace of play a little too slow, probably due to the fact that it was cart path only when we played and there was group of 5 in front of us. Other than that no complaints.
Great layout
Absolutely loved it here. Beautiful course that was very well kept. Pace of play was great. Great value for what we paid. Definitely coming back and recommending it to my friends.
Precision Required - Great Looking Course
Really fun course, distance is relatively manageable but Driver will likely stay in the bag for 14/18 of the holes on this course.
Par 3's are beautiful as they require shots either very downhill, or over a hazard, and the par 5s are very gettable even with a long iron off the tee.
Always a tough test
A beautiful sunny day. Greens were in great shape. You’ve got to hit it straight on this course to score well. Kind of a quiet gem.

Fun course. I wish that the tee boxes were nicer and that there were more Golf now hot deals. The regular rate is too much for this course.
great course for cost!
Great 9 hole course with well maintained greens! Fairly easy and straightforward, with just enough fun challenges to keep it fresh!
Bad shape
Course is completely full of patrons at the restaurant and the driving range. So they are making good money. The conditions of the course are horrible. The play was slow 5 hours for 18 holes and no employee of the course to help. Dead spots of grass every hole I needed to move my ball to a nice patch of grass on nearly every fairway. Every sand bunker has grass growing into it. Severe wet areas but the water is not helping the grass. Greens are slow and full of divots. Paid 100$ way over priced.
But they have new solar panels in the parking for everyone’s pleasure.

I'm glad that they offer the occasional Golf now hot deal.The regular rate is too much for this course.
